They sure aren't working as hard as they did in the past and according to at least two upperclass players discipline is some what lacking. Afraid we are going to "regress" big time!

40+ turned in applications. The search narrowed to 10 or so. After another round of interviews it narrowed to 5. All 5 were asked if they were offered the job would they come. 3 said yes and 2 backed out. Coach Walt Smith was the 2nd choice when Johnson was hired. He was on the SHORT list from the beginning this time. The Bobcats got the man they wanted. Coach Cardin put countless hours into selecting the right man for the job and he got him.

 

What I can tell you is that any team would have been extremely happy to have any of those 5 coaches as their head man. All 5 were the "first" choice. Coach Smith has hit the ground running both on the football field and in the community. There is no question that we have the right man for the Bobcat program......

 

 

WOMG... you said 5 made the short list. When asked if they were offered the job would they take it 3 said yes and 2 said no. What blows my mind is why the 2 said no. If you weren't going to take they job... why apply???

Looking forward to Tullahoma's visit to Pulaski on Sept. 13. The two have not played a regular season game since 1988. The Wildcats and Bobcats have faced each other in preseason scrimmages many times in recent years so they are not strangers. Gonna be fun in that beautiful pressbox!

Need some info on tonight's scrimmage . How did them bobcats look ?

Cats looked fine. Coach Smith and his staff were trying a lot of different players at new positions. The offense struggled with timing and execution at times as was to be expected. New QB, backs, and linemen plus a new system. One should expect the starting lineup to start taking shape now that the staff has seen them against live competition. Defense looked very good. Some assignment corrections in the secondary and they are good to go. Hardin County was fundamentally sound and huge. A good afternoons work for sure.

 

Bobcats need senior leadership to emerge. The biggest thing I saw was the lack of leadership among the seniors. But this is a great group and the staffs working hard. The leaders have got to step it up and the Cats will be fine....
