Yes, she is a good coach, won state championships, just played in one of the toughest districts in the state! Sure she want have any trouble getting a job. Good luck Norma!

Coach Nelson is a great lady. I loved my time being her student teacher and am very thankful she gave me a chance to help with her 97 runner-up team. She allowed me to coach 18 under with her and I was hired to coach @ Bradley Jr/Ocoee Middle upon her recommendation. This eventually led to my hiring for the Walker Valley job. We had many great games vs. each other during my nine years @ WV. Unfortunately, my last game coaching was a 10 inning 2-1 loss that kept us from going to Region. However, the pain wasn't as bad knowing I lost to my softball mentor. Keep your head held high Norma. Many kids have had the fortune to call you coach, I had the benefit of calling you FRIEND!

Jeez, it's not like they were terrible. It's like if Soddy fired Clifford for not winning state two years ago, or Riverdale firing Breeden for not getting to state last year.

Sounds like some kind of power play or backroom dealing..the coach has always been courteous and friendly in brief talks between games over the years. I agree she wont be looking long.

A school down the road has an opening next year, one that still has a shot at state this year...would be interesting to see them bring her on board... She is somewhat a victim of the dilution of talent with that same school robbing Ooltewah of some of their talent base.

I don't understand some of these administrators. Where is the loyalty? Some coaches sacrifice their entire career at one school and some bozo comes along and wants to"go in another direction" that's just another way of saying I've got a buddy I need to hire!!!!!!!!! You can say there's no politics involved but just take a look at what's happeneing at our government right now. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
