I thought humboldt dumped their coach. New coaching staff...makes it a very questionable pick. We shall see

On paper.... Humboldt should be the favorite in the West to make it to the single A championship game from the

West side of the bracket. To bad for Humboldt the games will be played on the field!!!

Word is that the thoroughbred has been moved to receiver. The new coaching staff is installing a pass happy version of the spread. They want to distribute the ball to ALL of their horses.

I understand the philosopy of spreading the ball around.... but they would be a fool not to give him plenty of touches with the production that he is capable of!!!

I think what the coach is during is utilizing McLilly in the passing game with him being 6'1 & the strength & speed will be a hard match up in the open field! I rather have a passing & running game and utilize all the athletes that Humboldt has instead of just running McLilly & being one dimensional! Defenses will have to prepare for a wide open offense & can't just stack the line to stop the run! If, Humboldt can get the spread offense down with a good passing game they will have some success this year! The past Humboldt teams just ran the ball & was to predictable, I say, " spread out a defense & make a defense play honest which will open up some running lanes & teams can't just put eleven defenders in the box!! Hopefully, Humboldt can put together a good season, people have been saying how will coach Reed make a difference with this team! Well, coach Reed won a middle school championship with this senior team & it's not like he doesn't know the players & they respect him! So, I'm looking forward to football season again!!!!

When was in middle school (8th grade) Humboldt beat Milan middle 44-6. We were 1-6 that year. As a senior... we went 13-2 and were state champs (mercy ruled Humboldt). Middle school doesn't matter. Lots of things change.

 

Having said that... I have alot of respect for Reed. I just want to see if he produces results. Also, I agree about spreading the ball out. I just don't think he needs to get carried away. Put the ball in McLilly's hands and let him make plays!!!
