Lake Co Coach Leaving

Rumours have been going around for a few weeks and looks like it's true.I'm assuming it's a done deal and the football and boys head basketball coaching jobs are vacant.Hopefully it was both their decisions to leave and not the new superintendant not wanting them back. Both are going to be missed and hopefully they go on to greener pastures.Lake co has a lot of young and very good talent coming up in both football and basketball.

Was going to wait and see if Wardawg posted .Hate to see either of them leave.unless it was their choices.Just saying last year I heard when the super came,he brought a couple people from Memphis with him..Demoted the middle school principal to a teacher and named his woman friend the assisant principle and the man friend as the high school assisant principal.Rumor last year was he was going to let the man coach one of the Lake Co teams.I thought, whose place would he take?Coach Johnson who has been coahing the girls for about 15 years at least.Or Coach Barger who won the State in her first year and has been to the State 3 years in a row.All I'm saying is if it were the superintendants decision,I'd sure let him know if I were a school board member that you may do this and nothing we can do.But after 2 years if you do make this move .You won't be back.

Dawn and David, we truly love you and thank you for all you have done! All I can do is hug you guys neck and say thanks! And I know ive talked to both of you today, but I want LC to appreciate and not hate! As for the coacht "posters", to much of your delight, this is probably one of my last posts on coacht! Don't expect too much as replacements.sounds like way too many problems in the SYSTEM. long road to recovery or maybe just history? A sad day in the L

i AGREE..I hope they go on to better things.Haven't got to talk to him,but if it were to be that they seemed to not have much a choice, doubt you'll see me on here as much or at the games this year. Both have done really good jobs making the playoffs in both sports and in her case, how can you replace someone better with someone that has make the State 3 years in a row.And last year wasnt expected to even be there.Mush less play Humboldt for the championship and a game that LC could very easily have won.But again. If it were their decisions only, can cope with it better.

It was their decision! Agree, i'm posting out of frustration...and that's all! Just look for me at the games biggy...it will be a trick if you see me! Everyone not from LC is saying or thinking "sour grapes" They don't know the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
