thegreatone36
Gallatin pays for their stuff with their own qb club money 100%. SC stuff is mostly played for by the board of education cause the qb club doesnt raise enough money for them. They have good stuff, but I believe Gallatin facilities are a little better. That weight room and indoor turf practice field is top notch for a high school level.
Mr. Postman1
Your facilities are nice. We seen it in 95 when we scrimmaged Gallatin down there, and it is good to know the board pays a lot of the stuff SC has.
baylorbigdog1976
All the talk earlier about Hurd playing safety... I don't think they need him there. His tackling skills show he has not played much safety even though he is a great athlete. He hit high and did not lock up. I do not know the reasoning behind how he was used today ... But they won so guess all is okay. Great game - two terrific teams. I agree Hurd was gasping big time - was this effect of him playing D and special teams ? I mean in the past he was getting what 30 - 40 carries a game
chickhot2
Guys the famous chickhot was at THE game today. JANCO was the one with big hit. That two losses for Gallatin. Gallatin players are transferring to station camp in all sports. Postman glad Yall beat them boys in Portland. Portland beat Gallatin last year. Westmoreland would beat gallatin. Station camp and beech are going to kick lots of butt this year
TheRealTruth
He did, but that was one player. He went there because of his cousin Josh Malone, getting a lot of D1 looks. Not many others though There have been a handful of players go to SC that are zoned for Gallatin. There have been 3 actually leave Gallatin for SC, not because they wanted to leave, but because the parents were told their kid would have more playing time or because they played out of position at Gallatin. Markel Rice and Shawn Banks have been the main culpits being vindictive with Gallatin since they were not brought on staff by Coach Lassiter or allowed to work with the kids in any capacity. They have been feeding certain parents untruths persuading them to go to SC for years. Shawn Banks used to walk the halls at Rucker Stewart MS recruiting kids, calling their parents when he was a substitute teacher and later teacher's assistant at SC. SC coaching staff did not hire him on staff due to the possibility of these actions being reported. Shawn Banks then was hired at Ezell Harding by another former wave and brought a nephew, a Shafer player with him. He is now at Sevier County in east TN. One player was approach by a SC coach while playing basketball with friends at SC the summer before his 9th grade year and talked to about going to SC and given a SC Bison rubber bracelet. Ken Brown, a quarterback club member for SC actually took this individual on vacation with his son the summer before his 10 grade year right before his mom moved him. Another recently transferred because Mom was told by Markel Rice he would start LB at SC instead DE at Gallatin. A SC coach then came into the picture and a move was made. He did not want to leave. Now, is GHS losing kids to Station Camp? Very few and some have been good players. Is Station Camp losing kids to Gallatin? Very few and some have been good players. If they come to Gallatin, it has been because they wanted to be at Gallatin, not talked to in any way. If they want SC, then Gallatin don't want them. The middle school players do mostly come to Gallatin. 100% Shafer zoned for Gallatin and 70% Rucker zoned for Gallatin. Most good athletes ended up at Gallatin this past year and look to next. FCS and JPII also have increased recruiting. When Station Camp opened enrollment at Gallatin dropped from about 1800 to 1350. Some are athletes, hence 5A, not 6A even now. Most of SC students live in Hendersonville zip code. The real issue is school zone lines. They are skewed to better address socioeconomic issues in the school system. SC zone cuts into Beech, Hendersonville and Gallatin even miles away from the those schools. SC still has no defined community while other communities are split. If the school board and county commissioners were forward thinking they would have built a large 6A school for Gallatin and Hendersonville to hold 2000 in Strategic Planning like Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, instead of a middle school design for Station Camp which needed add ons. Gallatin still has a great school, great programs, great teachers/coaches, and still much support in the community. Gallatin will be just fine but, thanks for all your concern. Some information should be left off of message boards - like calling kids out by name, unless it has something to do with what is on the field - but who goes on vacation together is ridiculous... TheRealTruth
Now to the topic. Is Gallatin jealous of SC and Beech being on ESPN? No, this great for all of Sumner County and all of Tennessee to show off some elite talent. It was a great game to boot. Gallatin has earned it's notoriety throught championships, national rankings and sportsmanship. Gallatin's history, tradition, and legacy of its players, coaches and administrators speaks for itself. Also, the future is bright.
thegreatone36
^^^ that is completely true. But SC has been around for some years now, and up to recent times, Gallatin still had more athletes. SC pulls from all three, GHS HHS & BHS. Very messed up IMO. I'm not worrying though, cause MJ still has a good program and they have Wilson Central & FCS pulling from them. If a kid chooses SC over Gallatin for football, its their own loss really, cause their equipment & facilities aren't as nice, MUCH less support from the community, ( hence the reason that the Board pays for SC supplies, but GHS qb club supports everything for the Green Wave) and less chance of winning a state title. At the end of the day I know that GHS will be just fine with the talent we have and what is coming up soon.

Ridiculous is still the truth. The question was asked and answered. I edited the names though if you follow Gallatin or SC, you know. It is not secret. thegreatone36
And if you look at my picture to the left, you will see the main reason why Gallatin isnt jealous over a TV game that SC was in, which by the way Beech won. Way to go Bucs. Gallatin & Beech both have nice looking trophy cases.
Solomon
I don't know or care how jealous anyone is, but the was Beech ran the I yesterday brought a tear to my eyes. That's how it is to be done.

Great game between the 2 top players.......I think Beech will slip a little and SC will get better.....too much focus on trying to keep Hurd healthy.....everyone will try and give him their best shot......but we want him healthy come Jan.when he enrolls in Tennessee...
