When Whitehaven reported to school on Friday their new turf field was spray painted with Fairley paraphernalia. This was a classless act and I am pushing for a school fine. Our community as blessed with a new field and some thugs decided to mess it up. I am glad Whitehaven put a 63-8 beat down on them.

Some "thugs decided to mess it up" and you want to fine the school? You logic is off, unless you are saying everyone from Fairley is a thug, and that would be just as off in logic as well.

I am wondering your what position you might be in to be pushing for a fine. Do you actually have some standing and are actually pushing for a fine, or are you just making a statement on a high school sports message board about non athletic and criminal behaviors and that is your "pushing?"

Hopefully they will catch the vandals and the appropriate punishments will be dealt. Sorry to hear about the Whitehaven field.

That is just totally classless to vandalize another school because you lose. I know how much those fields cost and its not cheap. They should be fined and pay for the damages. Also they should be put on probation.

So you think it was the principal and other faculty that did it? Or perhaps the Fairly coaching staff and players? Good to know that you can sniff out those perpetrators from all the way across the state. I agree that this is a tragedy. but you can't blame the school and penalize the players unless and until you know who actually did the damage. The football program is one of the few positives in some students' lives at some schools - why you wanna attack it without any basis to believe that this had anything to do with them?

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
