GILES VS CPA

No need to wait this week to get it started.  Both teams are 2-0 and both teams have played teams that haven't won a game.  New qbs for both and the both made it to the semi final game last year.  Now someone tell me something I don't know about this game, which should be a lot. Oh one more thing, CPA has at least one d1 commitment.  Anything else?  GO CATS!!!

First time to come down and play the Bobcats. Looking forward to trip down I-65. Do we take the first exit or second to get to the high school? What time is the buffet set-up in the pressbox? Ya'll have a good week.

If I were you I'd take exit 14. As far as a buffet in the pressbox?Good luck with that. Might be some pizza, brownies and m&m's but if your looking for a spread dream on.Hope you all have a safe trip down.Looking forward to Friday.Plan on getting there early it sucked to sit on visitors side last week. But work comes first.

Preseason I would have had GC a big favorite in this game. I still think they should win, but CPA's 2 QB's have been pretty effective and will get better each game. The winner should win the district, but both teams will make the playoffs. If this game was later in the year, with CPA QB's having more game experience and Howell back from injury, I might pick CPA, but I have to say GC will take it at home.

I agree with exit 14, then a right at the first light, then a right at the next light and you are at the BRICKYARD.  Hopefully we got the bugs out of the lights that the LC fan(jb) put in them.  Plenty of places to eat in town, except for the old faithful Hickory House.  Always room for some good fans at the tailgating, hopefully I can make it this time.

With both teams having learning qbs the one with the better running game and the least amount of mental mistakes on the team behalf will win. GO CATS!!!

If Giles continues to improve weekly they can get this one. CPA brings a offense that the Cats D should be familiar with. I like Giles chances if they keep it close. There are lots of little things that have to be cleaned up. The staffs working hard at that. I expect Jack Deere Field to be rocking with Bobcat fans Friday night. :ugeek:

Coming from Nashville CPA fans, please come early and enjoy the local owned restaurants.  Take Exit-22. Hang a left and go about 7 miles to the 1st red light. Take a left. The Rusty Spur is on your left. Great steaks, ribs, chicken and such. Continue on keeping left on 1st street and you'll find Savory Jacks on your left just off the square in the "row buildings". A unique place that features chef prepared dishes as you order them. Good stuff there. Continue on past the square and you'll find The Johnson's Bluebird Cafe on your right in row buildings. Hand patted hamburger steaks, hamburgers, and fish. The next red light is the intersection of 64 & 31. A left there and you can see Sam Davis Stadium on your right. If you make a right and go about 2 miles you will find Legends Roadhouse on your right. A Texas Roadhouse type place. Good food and they feed our boys after the home games.

Continue to exit #14 and taker a left and Sarges Shack is 100 yards on your right. GREAT steaks, chicken & fish. Try the brown rice and always order the "house dressing" on your salad. Homemade and wonderful.

Should be lots of Bobcat fans at the Brickyard. Prepare for a walk to get to the field. Come on down and spend them $$$. We sho need it here! :thumb:

Sry bobcats but have to go with CPA on this one. After watching fairview play yall the past two seasons and both.being extremely.close games. That being said watched cpa in the playoffs the past two seasons and can say without a doubt the past two years CPA would have won at will against my jackets.now it is a new season with new players but still feel as is if CPA wins this one by 14. But hope the bobcats prove me wrong.

Just saw where CPA is #1 in 3a and the Bobcats are #3 in 4a.Do you know what that means?Absolutely nothing.I was just wondering if Rudy Kaliis will make an appearance at the Brickyard Friday?I think if the Cats play like they did in the first qrt.against Lincoln Co.and like they did against Lawrence Co. they will be alright.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
