bigorangefan8
Who is the new Chuckey coach? What happened to the previous one?
Guest 3rdParty
Tony Long at Lebanon will be good, Tracy Sloan should be great at DeKalb, Eddie Cunningham former Cannon County Head and riverdale Assistant the new head man at Fayetteville. StarRaider
Southernfried, yes it is the same Tracy Slone that went to Cumberland with us. Great lefty back in the day. Coach Slone was at Siegel in 2012 and 2013, he is a good man and coach. Great to hear he has the DeKalb job, his son Chase is a senior at Siegel and a Southern Illinois (I think) signee. Siegel also lost Mike Bartlett to Stewarts Creek, another "top new coach" contenda in 7AAA ...
StarRaider
Josh Stewart the new head coach at Bartlett h.s. will do a great job. So Stewart is at Bartlett and Bartlett is at Stewart or is it the other way around ??
DCTIGERFAN
I am very interested to see how Coach Slone does at DC. Hall of Fame coach Woody Hunt of Cumberland U. personally called DC's principal and recommended Coach Slone for the job. He seems to have a great reputation on and off the field. AlcoaBasketball
It's probably too early to tell, but I'm interested to see what Josh Warner does at Gatlinburg-Pittman. Warner's teams at Jefferson County were always competing for championships, not to mention he set a school record with 31 wins his first year there. On paper, he doesn't have all the talent he had there, but he did bring in former Sevier County head coach Lance Traywick. Interested to see how it goes... bigorangefan8
I agree that Warner is a great hire. Are there enough great baseball athletes in Sevier County to field strong high school programs in all those schools? In the past few years it seems that Pigeon Forge, Sevier, and Seymour had outstanding records.

After their ace pitcher went down with injury last year, they collapsed. Hopefully Warner can change the mindset, although it might take some time. TigerPride23
So far in scrimmages Dekalb has lost to Siegel, beat Friendship Christian, and tied Stewarts Creek.
