Antwan, you can have your opinion. But I have met many coaches that have enjoyed my post because it gave them an idea of who to scout on late season bye weeks. Yes the match ups are going to change, but these boards are called discussion boards and every week we all enjoy great discussion on.

It's too early to scout teams for the playoffs until after week 8 anyway. Look at how many changes there's been from week 5 to week 8. Don't get me wrong...it's fine if you want to do it. The tssaa puts out their standings then. It's fine to discuss the possibilities. It's just not prudent to take much stock in them.

OK great we have your opinion, now go away so we can continue to discuss the topic...

You are aware than in 2010, little 3A Alcoa beat the 6A state champs?

I would also be willing to bet that at least 6 state champions come from East TN this year.

are you aware that in 2005 when Livingston Acd won state by beating Austin East and Fulton.....that they lost to Trousdale? One game could happen. Like Boise beating a S E C team one game. But not over entire schedule.

I see what you're saying, but I don't see why you don't think we should get on here and talk about the possible outcomes. That is, afterall, what we're doing, giving opinions has to how the teams in our area should finish to give a little clearer picture of where everyone will end up.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
