A testament of how weak that district really is.

Keep hearing the district is weak. Maybe top to bottom, but the top team in 2013 is a higher seed than the top team was in 2012. When was the last year 8aa had a #1 seed and one in first round? The 4a side of the district was weaker, true. But UH "might" go just as far or further than LA did. Already tied how far DC got from that 2012 strong district. YI, SC went just as far, even though record was worse.

Don't really have a preference in this game, but not convinced 8aa champ can win 2 this year, so the "Nerd" says Tyner. UHS hasn't been tested and that usually means trouble in the playoffs.

not trying to compare the teams at all because there is no comparison, but who has Fulton been tested by? And who is going to make them pay for not being tested?

true statement. But the kicker is. Fulton historically is a power house. Theyve been there before and won it all before.Upperman hasnt Theres no doubt that the east has the strongest programs in the state. Teams you would say dont test fulton would test mid and west state teams yearly. So really no comparison to be made.

Lol. We havent had any offense all year. Where are all tyners supporters? That many cheerleaders, football players and band members and only a handful of adults supporting them.

It is more than just not coming to support the team. You have to look at the socioeconomic conditions. Many of the Tyner players have never been to the "country" before Friday night. All they see is concrete and asphalt. Parents might not even have a automobile, use public transportation to get to and from. Having enough money to get to SC could be a big problem. We can't compare SC with Tyner as conditions are totally different. The Tyner supporters at Upperman will be about like the # at SC. Other than winning the football game, I am sure that most of the players really enjoyed coming to the "Hole" because it was so different from what they usually see.

very well said. Very diffrent cultures between rual bible belt county teams and inner city schools both in talent and support.

    • Yeah, we came up short. I remember we threw a ball over the middle to #5 Guymon? and he came up short of the sticks. Gave em he&& for a bit though.
    • Doe dee doe doe…..hmmmmmmm one of those players can run faster than my lawnmower when I put it in 5th gear turbo.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
