Fairview will have to cut down on the penalties and play a solid game against cpa to have a shot. I dont agree that Cpa will blow us out but every other school has said the same things. For people who dont know fview this year, the playmakers from last year are gone but this team is better all around in my opinion. What I would like to know iswho to look for on cpa`s team. Also it is not the cpa players fault they r in 3A and nithing is going to change between now and gametime. Just time for the jackets to put it all on the line

I'm from White House Heritage...first round foe/victim. Here is a preview of CPA that one of our local Sports Writers Jeremy Adcock from the White House Connection wrote:

How Heritage can win: Hanging in during the first half. CPA is a quick starting team that builds up a big lead and
glides to victory in the second half. The Lions average a 27-3 lead at halftime . CPA has multiple options on offense
with three rushers over 400 yards and a 1300 yard passer as well as a receiver and offensive lineman that are both
going to the University of Missouri. CPA does tend to go man to man on the corners and trust their athletes to cover
the wide receivers which has led to some big plays by opponents.

Overall: CPA is by far the best team that Heritage has seen in 2013. The Lions are the #1 ranked team in 3A for the
entire season and come into this game at 10-0 on the year. CPA has been eliminated in the semifinals of the 3A
playoffs in each of the last two seasons by Milan. The Lions avenged the losses to Milan with a 24-7 regular season
win at Vanderbilt Stadium.

That's the problem with you coachrus and you do it consistently. In this example, I challenge you to produce any post of mine that says one came over in the 7th grade. The bigger problem is when you are wrong you won't even accept responsibility.

I'm glad to know that you know what my problems are......log meet stick....

When I posted the status of when last years CPA starters started at CPA to show the ridiculousness of the accusations, you claimed that one was not there by sixth grade. If I misinterpreted your implication that the kid was not there in 6th grade to mean you thought he was there by 7th then you need to be more clear in your post. I think any reasonable person would see your claim as such (but then again you have never shown yourself to be a reasonable person, have you)

I find it extremely funny that this is your example that I won't accept responsibility. I think your post shows us more about you and your obsession than anything else.

do you recall a kid that played back in 2005. Tight end and at 14 he was about 6'6. Came from antioch. Then got kicked out of CPA a year later. Now im not saying this is true. Im asking if you know of this. But rumor was his.mother couldnt afford to send him there and then by some miracle she had the money in her bank account.. Supposedly sent by a booster for CPA. The only truth of that story that i know is true is that he was there because i played against himthen he got kicked out and that he was in middle school in antioch the year before. Rest is speculation. Just curious because that story always made me wonder.

You will need to ask Coach Brooks to explain this one since it was 8 years ago and he was the coach.

Someone post a preview for Fairview with key player names and stats. Howdy did a good job earlier but didn't post player names.

I think i know Dteshad Moore is #2 . How many yards does he have rushing and receiving? What is the QB name and class? Whatever are is stats? What is big #22 name? How many yards?

Thanks in advance?

I have to say, your exactly right. Persistence is what I call it. Y'all could move to the private division if yall wanted to, but like 77 said, y'all like to live in your bubble and still enjoy the public school atmosphere on Friday nights. Kind of like living in the US with all it's freedoms, all the good roads and police protection and military protection, yet sending your companies jobs over to china to earn your

living and helping their middle class.

I cant believe it,  Postman said it perfectly,  very well stated.

Coach, I don't mind answering some of your questions because it's basically public knowledge anyway. These days film and stats are everywhere, so there are really no secrets for anybody on Friday nights. #2 is Moore. Yardage wouldn't be real heavy because we distribute the ball around. Hunter Zimmerman is our sophomore QB who has been "Cool Hand Luke" for us all season. Makes good reads, can extend the play, and has a rifle arm. He is a gifted baseball player as well. #22 is Garrett Wall. Not al lot of carries on O. His passion is D I'm told. At 6'1" 220lbs running 4.7, he's hearing from some schools. He's fun to watch. We're a smaller blue collar team more so than the flashy speedsters we've been the last couple of years. Look forward to getting up to "The Den". Never been there before.

OK, I have posted this before, but here it is again. I know it won't matter to some and some won't believe it. I am not actively involved at CPA anymore, just a long time fan. I have no reason to lie about this and to many it will not matter.

First of all, I understand the feelings and opinions of many in the public schools about the unfairness of playing the privates. Some of those feelings have merit, some are based on misconception. Some don't know the truth and don't want to know, and some know it but still believe the system should be changed. I get that. Walking into the East game the other night, I took the initiative to welcome 2 fans from East and said "this should be a good game, we miss playing East in the district". They began talking about how unfair the system was that a school that gives athletic scholarships is playing their public school. They are misinformed, but I didn't argue - I just welcomed them to the Den and told them I hoped they have a great night. It wouldn't have mattered what facts I gave them.

HERE IS THE BACKGROUND: You state: "Yall could move to the private division if you wanted to". That is a 100% accurate statement as the TSSAA allows a private school every (I think) 2 years (may be longer) to submit their desire to remain in the public division (non scholarship) or private division (scholarship). It is a choice a private school is given under the rules. When the multiplier was announced and CPA was facing going private division or moving up in class, I was more involved actively at CPA. I was invited and went to an open forum of CPA supporters, church members, and parents where this was to be discussed and voted on.

Many at that meeting wanted CPA to move to private division for various reasons; others wanted CPA to accept the multiplier and remain public classed. I know you are not going to want to hear this, but here goes: the decision was made to stay public for these reasons:

1. Only competing with other private schools would restrict the school's (and kids) interaction with the local community and all socio-economic demographics. What is argued on CoachT is mostly wins/losses. What CPA teams have done reaching out to PC, Stratford, Maplewood, and other public school communities through competition is rarely seen or discussed because CPA does not boast about it (and they should not). Ask those schools and they will tell you. CPA feels that being in a private school bubble is not consistent with their mission. You may not feel they do this well, but it is their desire, and a basis for the decision to stay public division.

2. The administration did not want to be able to give athletic scholarships because they felt they would then be tempted to only help good athletes with funds and other deserving students would be left behind. CPA does give scholarships, but not to athletes. They decided they did not want to base their scholarship decisions on how good an athlete a kid was.

3. They decided that their Christian World View curriculum was unique (not better) in the community they were in among other private schools. To maintain this uniqueness, they felt it was best to not join the private school division.

4. They committed to strive for excellence regardless of multiplier, wins or losses, class they are assigned, and to accept the public/private split if it ever comes (and I think it will).

There were some other smaller reasons as well, but that is the basis of the decision. It was not based on wins and losses as evidenced by the lean win years in the beginning after dominating Class A before the multiplier. CPA could have won many more games and more titles in the small private division if they had moved there.

The above is facts. Have they met all of those goals perfectly? No. CPA people are as subject to mistakes as anyone. Will the above change all peoples' perception? No. I try not to say hate filled things about others on these boards, but I even get sucked in from time to time. I hope in the future to stick with facts (hence the name "Nerd"). For those of you who CPA is unchristian, dishonest, etc., I get it, but I urge you to get to know CPA folks firsthand, come to our school home, talk with our fans (not just CoachT posters) and then make your judgment. Best of luck to all of the Elite 8 and congratulations to the players and coaches who have worked very hard.

Only Obama and Pelosi have backed Obamacare as well as you just backed CPA playing in public ranks,  I guess as long as you can convince the faithful, you ARE living in a bubble.

Thanks Jacketman 89. Looking forward to a great game. Hope you enjoy your visit to the Den.

If anyone has season stats on Fairview they would be appreciated. I'm helping to put together a press kit for several sports writers expected to be in attendance. Have all the CPA stuff. Not finding stats on Fairview on the web. We'll get roster info from the coaches. Just want kids accomplishments to be recognized. Thanks.

How about basketball team, where do all these "students" come from year after year after year?  CPA has no "predetermined" demographic area in which its students and athletes come from.  You people insult our intelligence when you say you don't openly recruit, when in fact you do.  How many of these athletes are from the old hickory blvd/hillsboro rd area?  Now do i blame CPA?  Not at all, the real blame lies with TSSAA and their lack of a back bone to i.e. $$$$ to make the privates play each other come play off time or at the very least put them in the highest classification in every sport.  Only then will the playing field be more level and i will throw in the public schools that are open zoned as well (Maryville, Alcoa, Memphis etc...) as they do the same exact thing that the privates do.  The county schools are the ones that are penalized the most by TSSAA.  If a county school team gets 1 player to move in its huge news and TSSAA makes their entire family relocate otherwise they forfeit a year of eligibility.  Where is the fairness in all this?  TSSAA is the issue here not the schools and until the county schools band together and go before the TSSAA board this scenario will be played out every year. Ya'll have a nice day! :popcorneater:
