It really does add some speed and excitement to the game.

Punters must love it. If the receiving team doesn't field it they can punt 20 & roll 40. I noticed that when we were there. We have a pretty good punter but that stuff definitely improved his average (I know, I know he had plenty of chances to pad his stats )

i am perty sure this is the way it went...in 73 Hartsville was playing Kingston @ Cookeville for the Gold Ball..it was below freezing that night, felt like 20 degrees, wind out of the North felt like 40 mph. Ask 7 bout how the stadium is when it like that.   lol   he knows

They has us down 28 to zip by the half, we rallied in the 2nd half to tie the game. It was closing down to just a few seconds left on the clock and we were knocking at the door, close enough for a field goal to take the win..if we had someone who could kick one...back then fields goals were girly stuff, we always went for 2. Jim B never even talked about it in practice.

Well DJ runs over during a T/O and sez...hay coach, I think i can kick a field goal and win this thing...30 to 40 mph wind in his face, DJ was a glory hog anyways back then..

Well they lined up and tried it , and of course it sliced like your golf shot Sno....overtime...they scored we lost.

dj, a glory hog?! that doesn't sound anything like the guy that once, allegedly, put himself back into a game to score one more touchdown(which he did) during a blow out just so we could beat the spread. :roflolk:

Speaking of punts crow what about the old fair catch in 08 that the refs seemed to have missed Oneida got the shaft on that one didn't they kindly changed that game didn't it

Well that was a long time ago but now that you mention it, YEP! The officials completely missed that one. I don't know if it changed the outcome or not but it did take it from a 1 to a 2 possession game (something like 14-10 TC to 21-10 TC). It was a huge momentum swing but they won and got the gold. I'm not sure if the officials got that one right we would have done either anyway but I sure did like our chances that year. I'm hoping for a TC win in his one, I hold no hard feelings, I'm a big Trousdale fan.
