Don't get me wrong cause NCS was awesome this year. The UC verses Humboldt game was the championship this year in 1A.

I agree with you.  NCS was awesome and the UC vs Dresden was a great game, too.  We should be proud of 1A football in the West! Union City, Humboldt, Dresden, Trenton, Huntingdon -  We definitely have talent on this side of the state!

Most of the uc to central transfers say they went there because they either had more friends there or because the academics are easier. The two juniors on the uc team that came here as freshman are twins, and devout Christians and they felt the students they were surrounded by were worse influences on them. The pattern here? None of the reasons were FOOTBALL. None of the reasons were SPORTS.

Union City was the best team no doubt about it, but anyone that thinks SP's #6 being at about 75% and their best linemen #60 being out of the game didnt hurt them is delusional. Am I saying SP is better than UC? Absolutely not, but those guys would have helped closed the gap and shown that SP deserved what they got. UC was the best and deserved the gold ball. SP at full strength was the second best and got the silver one they deserved.

Why I say that is that to win 1A since 2007, teams have had to go thru SP to win that gold ball. UC was the better team as Wayne Co was in 2011, but SP was in both UC games and the WC game. Nobody has blown us out....that is why I say you fellars from west tn need to put down those rose colored glasses. UC, Humbolt, and Dresden are some of the larger teams in 1A so they should be good. SP will have a couple of downs years but will be in contention again in 2016.

I'm not trying to argue, just bringing up a point. I am firmly convinced SP was the second best team in 1A. They did well this year for what they had. They will be one of the top teams in the east again next year, but whoever Union City faces along the way will definitely be the state title game because the best in the east won't be as good as they were this year.

Lets be realistic. There are only about 5-6 teams year in and year out in 1A that have ANY chance of reaching Cookeville.

Lets look at things ..Every year South Pitts., Alcoa and Maryville in football.Jackson Co in basketball.Every year.I'm pretty sure for these schools to be this good every year ,that players are coming from out of state or from other schools to which they are zoned .Several have feeder schools.Until the TSSAA step in and makes athlethes go to schools they are zoned,gonna keep happening.Lake Co has lost about 10 athletes to Dyer Co.About a 20 mile drive.And still live in Lake Co.This shouldnt be happening.Make a rule to go to the school where you are zoned or at least try to come up with a 5 to 10 mile limit.It is hurting the smalled schools but still are having to compete against the schools that are allowed to zone people in.Lake Co has to play players that live in their county..So really cant see why people would think Union city is getting kids from all over and South Pittsburg is probably getting kids from Marion co or who knows?

SP does get kids from different places and so does TC. Its no dang secret. You can't be that good every year without some crap going on. It has ruined high school football in my opinion.
