WesVLT
Would anyone like to talk about the game?
workinprogress
I looked at the mus schedule. They have a couple losses one being BA. Ensworth also has the one loss to BA. Both are top notch programs and are similar in a lot of ways. Both have great staffs and athletes. Ensworth has had to deal with all the distractions but I think they overcome them and look to make a statement here. I'll say ensworth 35-17. notsoinnocentbystander
Yes! MUS wins a close one 23-17 for the following reasons: 1. MUS D is really good 2. EHS is distracted by the coaching/referee debacle 3. MUS D is really good Hope I'm right!
shadowman
Is Coach Bowers allowed to coach this game? Was there an appeal of the ejection? Was there a lawsuit filed?
JonDRob
Is Coach Bowers allowed to coach this game? Was there an appeal of the ejection? Was there a lawsuit filed? Yes they will be able to coach the TSSAA overturned their decision. Although I agree Ensworth is favored, with the dreadful weather forecast, I would cut those point predictions at least in half. With their offense almost totally pass oriented after the loss of their two running backs, MUS in a steady rain might not even score except for maybe a FG. notsoinnocentbystander
Owl, you jumping ship this late in the game? I would think the rain would work in MUS's favor. Wunderlich should be good for 2-3 FG's. If MUS D can keep doing what they do then MUS offense may only need to score one TD. Throw in a turnover and you have an Owl victory! warhawk
unless the turnover ratio is in MUS favor then I don't think they can win. They will need one "gimme", if they can get it then "MO" will be in their favor and they will roll on to victory.

IMO rain and cold do not bode well for a passing game. IMO in the rain it's less treacherous to hand off the ball and run than throw and catch then run. There might also be some windy conditions and Wunderlich has kicked more than one FG in only one game this season (3 vs. McCallie). The MUS D has not faced a runner comparable to Ferby or possibly even Sheffield. Moreover, although Ensworth has shown vulnerability to the pass, Bowers is too astute a coach to let happen to them what happened to MBA. All in all I'm afraid this spells a long night for the Owls. They have their work cut out for them. I hope I'm wrong. We'll see. Hope springs eternal.
WesVLT
If MUS is to beat Ensworth, it will need to force turnovers and win the line of scrimmage. The Tigers are incredibly physical, and Ferby -- slowed by injury for much of the year -- has had an extra week to heal and prepare. It will be hard for the Owls to shut down the Tigers' smashmouth offense, but if they can get some early stops and put some quick points on the board, they will put Bowers' run-oriented squad in a tight spot. I predict that the Tigers will control the line of scrimmage well enough to keep the ball out of MUS's hands. Ensworth will lead 14-3 at halftime and will win 27-10. dooby
As an outsider who really cares not for private schools. If I had my way, I would hope that MUS defeats Ensworth very handily. . Edited December 5, 2013 by dooby
owlbooster
Even though they are separated by only 90 miles, it's raining and 42 degrees in Nashville but merely overcast and 67 degrees in Cookeville at 5:45pm May be the weather won't be as big a factor as feared. It apparently is a bit windy though.
