Tri-County Seven Week #8

There are no changes this week.

 

1. Elizabethton- (AA) (13-3)-  Lost to Science Hill.  Beat Cosby by 27.  Host Johnson County Tuesday and visit South for a big league game on Friday.

 

2. Cloudland- (A) (16-3)-  Took a very disappointing 3 point loss at home to North Greene.  Beat Unicoi County by 10.  At Unaka Tuesday and at University High on Friday.

 

3. Hampton- (A) (11-6)-  Beat U-H and Rockwood.  Seem to be stabilizing.  Host North Greene in a big game Friday and visit Gate City,VA Saturday.

 

4. Unicoi Co.- (AA) (7-10)-  Lost at home to Cloudland.  Host South Tuesday, Johnson County Friday, and visit Crockett Saturday.

 

5. Happy Valley- (AA) (11-10)-  Beat Unaka.  At East Tuesday in a big league game.

 

6. Unaka- (A) (5-14)-  Lost to Happy Valley.  Have a tough week coming up.  They host Cloudland Tuesday and South Greene Friday.

 

7. Johnson Co.- (AA) (5-11)-  At Elizabethton Tuesday and Unicoi County Friday.

It was good to see the lady landers bounce back. I wasn't sure. Their heads were hanging the last 3 minutes of the 4th when they lost. The team definitely weren't themselves

They have dug themselves a hole in the District 1 standings. South Greene and North Greene will be hard to catch and Hampton will be a factor. It really doesn't matter until the District 1 tournament. That will be fun to watch these four teams battle for Regional seeds.

Cloudland is very tough when on and well coached. If on at tournament time could go deep into the post season play!

They're gonna have to be mentally tougher. Ng is a very willful team. Hopefully they'll come out with the eye of the tiger from now on

I noticed the polls have come out.  Has anybody played a tougher schedule than Hampton?  They have lost to the #1 team in AAA, the #1 team in AA twice, the #4 and #7 class A teams and to Daniel Boone on their home court in a game without Monica Olevera and a game they led by 15 at halftime.  All of thier losses have been away from home except for the first Eliz. game.

Hampton always plays a very tough schedule and it serves them well come tournament time. They are battle tested against good AAA and AA competition before the district 1-A tournament starts.

I personally don't care about polls. I wish we were unranked and Hampton and ng were in the top 10. The only titles that matter are district, regional, and the gold ball

Big game for the Lady Bulldogs with North Greene coming to town Friday nite.  Hampton girls have been playing well after some adjustment.  They are starting 2 freshmen now so they should have as much room to improve by tournament time as any team in the league.  Dogs need this game at home pretty bad to keep up in the league.  I still say 4 teams could finish first in the regular season and any of those teams could finish 4th.

I'd say hampton wins by 10 plus if they play to potential. You can't guage ng by our game. We played really bad
