Congrats to the ONE girl and TWENTY THREE boys nominated.

Good luck Rachel Bell in the process!!

Question: With all the great players in the state of TN, how do we only have 1 girl nominated?

Go to www.mcdaag.com and look at the list for the entire US. Look at the states that have multiple girls nominated. Why is TN's list so anemic?

This is unbelievable you can't tell me TN doesn't have enough talent to be nominated I would like to know how these votes are done because this is shocking and congratulations to Rachel Bell you deserve it and so does Alexa, Shelbie, Brooke Copeland and Keiana Gilbert and Jaycee Coe one of the top shooters in the country.

Something is HIGHLY wrong with this list......almost looks like things weren't turned in for players all over the state by sportswriters, etc.  Rockbridge, MO....who Riverdale beat 62-60 had 4 nominees.......Incarnate Word (MO) who beat Blackman had 3 nominees.... Homewood Flossmore (IL) who beat Riverdale 62-63 had 1 nominee......BUT......Long Beach Poly (CA)....the #1 team in the country for a while, who beat Riverdale 49-57 had ZERO nominees.

Even the state of Hawaii had 2 kids nominated as well as the state of Idaho had 2 nominees.

There are ZERO nominees out of the state of Kentucky.

The state of TN has too many good players/teams who have gone out all year and played the best teams in the country and beaten or held their own.

This list holds no water IMHO.

Here is the list.... http://epkzone.com/2014allamericangames/media/2014_MCDAAG_NomineeList.pdf

The state of IOWA (3 million population) has 36+ McDonald's All American nominees in Girl's Basketball.  They have not one top 50 team in the polls.

This snub is an insult to the state of TN girls basketball.  Everyone who is ANYONE on the basketball recruiting circuitand college coaches knows Tennessee (6.5 million population) is the hotbed of girls high school basketball.

Congratulations to the girls who made the list, but the girls in TN were done wrong.

This explains the selection process...
Just because you are nominated doesn't necessarily mean you'll even almost come close to playing in the game.
http://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/aag/en/gamescenter/Team-Selection-Process.html"

IMO, Bell, Middleton, Copeland, and maybe Coe deserve to be nominated. But once again not saying any of them would be close to playing in the game. (Except Middleton)
Only 24 players can play in the game, the lowest ranking player that played in the game last year was Makayla Epps #37...
Therefore Middleton at #28 is the only one really missing out as she is one of two in the state of TN in the top 100... Copeland is #70.
There could be several reasons for Middleton not being nominated. Being nominated for the All-American game truly means nothing at the end of the day unless you really have a shot at playing in the game.
Last year there were 12 guards in the game, they have to fill all positions.
Middleton is the 14th best guard in the 2014 class.

The highest ranking player out of KY is Kayla Rankin #66. No real chance at playing in the game.

Let's be honest, the 2014 class in TN isn't extremely strong, neither is the 2015 class, so don't expect anyone from TN to play in the All-American game next year either.
Same for the state of KY....

Oh no question... Chances are this isn't the final list tho... I mean, the state of KY just started playing games in Dec...

and my guess would be Middleton will definitely be nominated, and probably has a decent chance of being in the game.

Just read in the rules that the nomination process closed on December 15, 2013
