Huge game coming up in District 7-AAA on Friday, January 10th at Blackman High School.  Both Riverdale and Blackman are highly ranked in national polls and have been on the road extensively.  Both teams have played some of the best teams in the country leading up to this game.  Riverdale (13-3) has lost to two top 10 teams in the country by narrow margins, and Blackmans only loss is to a top 10 nationally ranked team.  This game will be loaded with future college players we will watch on TV at the next level.

Definitely one of the top games in the US being played.  We are fortunate to have 3 of the top 25 programs in the country here in Murfreesboro in District 7-AAA (Blackman, Riverdale and Oakland).

I'll agree with you on Blackman and Riverdale being top 25 teams in the country but Oakland?? Come on, They have a couple good players in Gibson, and the Eubanks sisters but top 25 in the country is a real stretch for them. They couldn't compete with the caliber of theam that the other 2 have faced this year.

I am just going off Oakland being ranked nationally in the polls for several weeks.  I agree.  Oakland has not played the caliber of teams that Riverdale and Blackman have played.  The only losses for Oakland though are to Blackman and Mt Juliet, and they weren't blowouts by any means.....actually low scoring games.  You are also forgetting about senior Kaitlin Oliver for Oakland who is averaging around 10 ppg.  She has DI offers, but is waiting to see if she can up her stock by signing in the spring class.

Here is an article that came out today regarding the AP Polls:

They beat a team from Illinois early on in the season that was nationally ranked by many. As previously stated, Oakland held their own against Blackman, and will have a decent chance to beat Riverdale.

I do agree Oakland held their own against Blackman and I also credit their coach with a great game plan of slowing Blackman down and making them play their game and the 2nd half Blackman made some adjustments to pull away enough for the win. Oakland has shown they can and will be in the conversation come district tournament time. I expect a tough competitive game tonight between Riverdale and Blackman as they go round 1 of possibly 3 or 4 more games, Good luck to all the girls tonight that represent Middle TN so well.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
