D1 AAA State Duals

Does anyone know who would be the 4th seed or will this be a blind draw since the remaining region champs are not returning state placers?

 

1. Cleveland - region champs and defending state champs

2. Wilson Central - region champs and defending state runner-ups

3. Heritage - region champs and 4th at state

4.

 

So far this is how the bracket is shaping up...

 

Top of the bracket:

Cleveland

Beech

Maryville

 

Bottom of the Bracket:

Soddy Daisy

Wilson Central

Heritage

 

It will be interesting to see which round Wilson Central will draw Soddy Daisy.

Semi's would be logical, but with noind draw? Could be a reason for further criteria

It would surprise me if these two teams met in the semi-finals again for the second year in a row using a 'blind draw'. I guess there's a 50/50 chance right?

They have to meet in the semis or earlier because of the crossing of two rules:

 

a. Cleveland goes in the top half and both WLC and Heritage in the bottom due to seeding.

b. All region runners-up are placed in the opposite half from the winners of their own regions.

 

Thus, Soddy-Daisy has a 1/4 chance of meeting Wilson Central at the start, and the same of meeting Heritage. If not, then they'll be scheduled to meet one in the quarterfinals. Then their expected semifinal opponent will be the other of the two.

 

I now support having the draw performed in public.

There's a 50% chance that Soddy will end up on the bottom of the bottom bracket (facing WC within the first two rounds) and a 50% chance that they end up on the top of the bottom (facing WC in the semi's). That is if both teams progress as projected.

The seeds are set. You can view themon track. Just go to teams

The actual brackets are not up yet, but If you go to the results page on track, it shows the first round duals for D1A-AA and DII.  Most interesting thing is that Baylor and Mccallie face each other 1st round.  Again this is according to trackwrestling

I hope that Track has it wrong for DII as It shows

Match 1 - Bros vs BA

Match 2 - MBA vs St Ben

Match 3 - Baylor vs McCallie

Match 4 - Ryan vs Briarcrest

 

If this holds true, that mean that Ryan will face the winner of Baylor/McCallie in the semis?

 

Certainly this has to be incorrect???
