Westview @ Gibson County (Feb 1, 2014)

Great game between two good programs. GC is going to be pretty awesome the next few years. Extremely young, but very talented. I was glad to get out of there tonight with a W. We looked tired early, but thankfully the shots started falling. Good luck in the tourney! I liked how all of the crowd cheered for one of the greatest basketball players ever from this area, Heather Butler. Watched her for many, many years and she is an amazing young woman. Glad we all could witness her jersey retirement.

It was a great game to say the least. Tiffany Rechis finished the game with 38 points on 9 three pointers (and some of them were contested threes). Throw in 5 more threes by Kaylie Leyhue and you get a Westview win... Gibson lead through the first three quarters and went stone cold in the 4th only scoring 6 points. Westview has gotten a lot better and is definitely capable of a state tournament run. Don't let their record fool you one bit!

Westview could be playing their best basketball at the right time. Tiffany Rechis and Kaylie Leyhue can carry a team, both are worthy of high individual honors.  I'm picking Westview to go to state.and make a good showing.

 

Gibson County could make it to state but they are very young and will probably have to beat Middleton at Middleton to get there. It would be cool to beat Union City in the region finals and send Union City to Middleton. We might get two teams at the state.

What is your problem with Union City? Why are you so against them? Your words are always so very negative as it pertains against them it's not like they have won everything for ever, they are just becoming a quality team. Yet you seem to align yourself with anyone who UC plays regardless of who that may be. Why is that?

I think it stems from your arrogant boys fans over the years and your arrogant boys coach. Theres nothing against your Union City girls team  but I think its still ok to pull for whomever you choose.  I pull for Greenfield first and I choose to pull for Gibson County next this year, if that's ok. You are free to pull for who ever you like just thought it was odd that someone who can't seem to win made it a point to take shots at a team trying to win. The boys have plenty to be arrogant about when they have haters like you so. I guess the UC arrogance and your constant bulletin board material makes for a match made in heaven. We all have a role to play no matter how small that may be.

I could see that but I'm not sold on Oakhaven. I could see JCS replacing Oakhaven. Where is that region tournament at?

As for Gibson, we just need to take care of the solid teams in our region first.... Dresden and Huntingdon are not bad teams. I think we are better but we will have to show up against either of those 2. And we cant leave out Greenfield either. Tournament time should be fun....

I'm just bored after football! I'm a Dresden fan. I pull for west TN if my team isn't around come tournament time. I was your biggest fan in football (hate you cause you beat us).

I'm predicting the boys and girls championships will come from the west in B ball. Pretty easy pick though.
