Cleveland BlueRaiders 2014

Recommended Posts

After watching a couple of middle school scrimmages I'd say that as far as Bradley/ Cleveland Schools are concerned it's obvious that Cleveland will have the better program. I've seen them all practice. Of course I think they get more kids evolved and keep them interested. Ocoee numbers are down from what they had last year even from the returning 8th graders. Running kids put of programs in middle school will kill a high school program quicker than bad coaching and no talent.

Middle school football in Bradley/Cleveland is a mess.  (not that it's not other places...since there's really no "hard zoning" most other places either)

Indeed, it seems CMS is typically blessed with athletes, but often those athletes transfer to the county system because they believe they'll play more or play earlier...or that school will be easier.  That migration dilutes the product, ultimately.  Bradley has been the biggest beneficiary of CMS migration over the years...several will be starting/playing over there this year.

I believe a smoother transition to CHS could be available if there was more collaboration between the middle and high school staffs and systems, too.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
