Cleveland BlueRaiders 2014

Recommended Posts

Hey I hope so but I don't see it. How have they been so far this preseason? Cleveland also isn't the same team they were last season. More running less passiing

My sources say they were throttled by Science Hill in scrimmage 1 and then they beat up on a pretty weak Sevier County team. I have yet to see them... Will get my first look this Thursday as I will be attending the Knox Jamboree this Thursday and Friday!

I wouldn't put too much stock into scrimmages. But we shall see

Middle school football in Bradley/Cleveland is a mess.  (not that it's not other places...since there's really no "hard zoning" most other places either)

Indeed, it seems CMS is typically blessed with athletes, but often those athletes transfer to the county system because they believe they'll play more or play earlier...or that school will be easier.  That migration dilutes the product, ultimately.  Bradley has been the biggest beneficiary of CMS migration over the years...several will be starting/playing over there this year.

I believe a smoother transition to CHS could be available if there was more collaboration between the middle and high school staffs and systems, too.

When CHS had the CMS feeding them with the Underdown/Wear connection and running the same offense with the same terminology as Monroe's teams they built a dynasty.

Same issue for all the schools. Middle schools doing their own things and no hard core dedication to the HS transfer. CMS to CHS; OMS to WVHS; LFMS to BCHS.

But as Checkerboard said no hard transfer rules, so the middle school kids pick where they want to go and voila. a mix and match and confusion of systems. However, with everyone heading to some form of the Spread today this is less a problem than in years past.
