According to the Columbia Daily Herald, MP's season is starting out on the wrong foot a little bit.

Starting Junior QB Walter Crawford broke his foot last week on the 18th playing basketball making a lay up. The break read to be not too severe as several days later he is already out of the boot and able to put a little pressure on it. Crawford is doing what he's able to do during practice so far, mainly throwing and studying new offense; he said about he's about at 75% and hoping to be at 100% before Aug. 22nd opener at Eagleville.

I think mTp may have something going on.

:thumb: bout time you get back on the T..... Been aweful lonesome as a MP fan on the T as of late.... I guess after Zioneaglet55 got done trying to fuss with me a bit over the hiring process, he/she turncoated back to the other side and quit talking MP football. On the bandwagon for a minute and then fell off down the road somewhere.....lol.

  • will be a tough, first game

Can be a good game IF MP can hang on to the ball and if Coach brings a game plan with short, quick passes to keep the LB's honest to allow a run game to develop for MP to take pressure off a not 100% QB... Could be interesting.

Going long occasionally with just run, run, run.?.?.? Gonna be a long nite for MP... Eagleville can and will stuff the run if LB's are free to help their D line and keep Crawford running for his life on an injured (not 100%) ankle setting up long passes.

Don't need to loose our QB first game of the season re-injuring it. Get the ball out of his hands quickly.

GO TIGERS! :thumb:

Halftime....

MP........ 6

Eagles....3

Eagles drive takes some time off the clock only to be stopped by Tigers D with Woodson for the Tigers making 2 big stops and forcing a turn over on downs.

Tigers Offense takes over and drives the 3/4 distance of the field with the final play leading to a TD being a good scramble by QB Crawford throwing right before he was sacked to WR Warrensly for completion, then Warrensly broke a tackle to go on in for the TD.

Eagleville takes an out of bounds kick off and starts at their 35, has just enough time on the clock for a couple of plays to set up about a 30-35 yard field goal to put 3 on the board.
