I remember an E-town team with alot of hype in 2010-2011 only one loss weak sched. Prob liked their draw then too. Cannon Co 8 losses, 6-4 in district 8aa play.

You post this as though Cannon Co. wiped the floor with E-Town that game.  The game was close throughout and tied with about a minute to go.  We gave up an easy basket, missed a shot and had to foul a couple of times to create the final deficit of 5 or 6. In my opinion, we lost that game because our coach chose not to press the whole game (he was afraid of foul trouble and we were not deep that year). Regardless, in my opinion the top 3 AA teams in the state tournament that year were on the same side of the bracket (EHS, Cannon and McMinn Central).  I think that if Cannon or EHS had been on the other side, either would have been in the championship against MC).

I said nothing of them wiping the floor with you or even winning for that matter. I said the coach prob liked that draw too. Because of Cannon's schedule.

10 players from EHS played against CAK.

this is a normal occurrence from LA side. They have at least 10 players CONSTANTLY rotating in. 2, 3, 4 at a time. It's a constant merry-go-round. If the first few minutes display sluggishness, she'll rip the first 5 and toss in the next 5 for an injection. This is why you will rarely see any LA names mentioned. There are no stars, simply a team full of above average players who are each capable of a big night if needed. But rarely will you see the high scorer in each game going over 15 points.

Guess I should have said they didn't beat anybody. Grainger & CAK were not contenders. They got beat by SH twice. The only good teams they played beat them. That's not to say they can't win...just that they are very beatable.

That's interesting. SE Raleigh is 24-2 (1 of the losses to EHS) in NC 4A quarterfinals.  I'm pretty sure they feel they are somebody, especially since they were in the championship game last year as well.  It's funny that you indicate that neither Grainger nor CAK were contenders.  Both played decent schedules and both were barely defeated in OT by Fulton in the Regional and Sectional.  Fulton beat LA.  I know, I know that was early in the year so that doesn't count.  I'm just a little perplexed by the sentiment (not just you but others) that all LA's wins were good wins and losses were good losses because they played a tough schedule, but all EHS's wins were not quality wins and losses were bad losses because they happen to be in a weaker district. Every team that is left in AA is beatable.  Whoever brings their A-game for three days will likely take home the gold ball.

I don't know about SE Raleigh...but I suspect NC girls BB is considerably behind TN....especially Middle TN. I stand by the statement that CAK & Grainger were not contenders. Neither of them beat any good teams either. That is not to say they weren't competitive...they were.

As I said before...you can throw out the first half of the season for LA. No reason to go into why due to privacy issues.

You are correct about it will be whomever brings their A game for 3 games. CPA proved that the last 2 years. I don't think many were picking them either year.

I'm still perplexed by the coach's comment that he wanted to avoid a Cannon County team that is 2-2 versus the LA team that he ended up getting. Maybe he was unaware of those battles, I don't know.
