5aaa my defense were just pups last year....just nibbling at your ankles and knees...NOW them pups have grown into Pitts...Rocs.....and Dobermans!!!! Now they will latch on and lock down and wont let go ....

Kudos to the Ooltewah Owls!

the team was young with first time starters on defense

that did not allow a 100 yd rusher....great red zone defense

scored at least 6 tds on defense

had the best pass rush in 5aaa

first year Coach Matt Bryan was Coach of the Year and led

the Owls to a 9-3 season with District Champs honors!

Looking forward to another great season....Specialty: Defense

after the West game..the ClevelandBlueRaiderfan said "our defense is really bad"

but the BlueRaiders manage to steamroll thru the district with one minor hiccup to the 

Hurricanes and redeemed themselves in the playoffs with a 97 yard drive on Hurricane Hill to reach the semis

they finished 3rd in the district for the regular season..and first in the district for the final talley..all games were on the road....so home court won't be a factor...Specialty: Wideouts

coming from 4a and a qtr final loss to Giles...the Canes came into 5a and took over by storm..

not surprising though...  former Owls Coach Ted Gatewood is very familiar with the district and it didn't take long for his players to follow suit...the first order of business was to get the proverbial monkey off their backs...that being the nemesis Ooltewah Owls that has become a rival attracting a crowd of 6k or more....the ONLY district loss was to the Owls...but what a redemption for the first win to be when it really counts...IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! the district race was so close that it had to be decided by points...though the Owls got the nod...the others share a piece of the humble pie....specialty:Special Teams

always a factor in 5aaa...had some key pieces to the puzzle but ran into the 6a Champs in the first round of the playoffs and hung around for the first half...but injuries and lack of depth hurt their chances of making any noise....Specialty: Shifty QB

 

McMinn, Walker Valley, and Soddy Daisy did not make the playoffs last season...
