I would like to invite fans from both these schools to tune into my Friday Main Event pregame show Friday night at 4:00 PM Central time.  I'll have Alcoa Head Coach Gary Rankin on as one of my guest Coaches.  Other Coaches scheduled are:  Coach Rob Black from Fulton, Coach Walt Smith from Giles County, and Coach Tim Moore from South Pittsburg.

Should be another great night of football on The Ticket Radio!  You can here the show via the internet by clicking Here!

Florida, FSU, and Miami are the same way, LOL! Miami didn't match other teams' talent until the 80s. Florida and FSU didn't until the 90s. When they did, boy were they fun to watch!

Yep, Miami started recruiting from Liberty City and other ghettos as well as pulling players from FAMU. The other two began to follow suit. Before then FAMU used to rule the roost.

WOW, you have been to his house. Have you been to his house while he lived in Carthage, have you been to his house in Christiana (Riverdale), you say you have been to his house in Maryville, have you been to his vacation home in Gatlinburg, have you been to "Honey's Hive" with him.? All these places I and my family have been to with Gary and Sandra, in case you didn't know his wife's first name many, many, many times.Have you been water skiing with him, he doesn't play golf, have you gone on scouting trips with him, scouted for him, know ALL his brothers, no sisters, know his mother and father who are now deceased, for sure do you know "Spud"? Do you know what his second job while in Carthage?  Have you gone to coaching clinics with him, gone to the Clinic bowl each year with him, do you know what Sandra's hobbie is, gone to church with him - I could go on and on and on. Don't have time or space to go on. Posters in SC know most of the these answews if not all. Please don't embarass yourself saying you know Gary Rankin better than SC fans!! Good luck this year, except for Thursday night.

Sorry for that - Alcoa posters have earned the right to make post that others can't make. You are able to back up what you say because of the Alcoa football team.  That team is made up of about 100 dedicated players AND one of the finest coaching staff in TN. A lot of that is Coach Rankin. My point in my post is that Coach Rankin has ALL of his coaching ability and ALL of his knowledge,  his interest and demands are with  Alcoa. This is exactly as it should be. BUT, Coach Rankin's HEART is in Smith County. The way it should be. He is for EVERY play, no matter who, what or where and will play the ones who deserve to play. To show his diversity, he and Sandre were married by a African-American preacher, Earl Dirkson. Earl is the father of Scott Dirkson, Mr. Football running back while at SC. For SC posters, "Juice" graduatred from MTSU and is now working for the state counseling at risk children in Nashville.

Totally agree about his coaching. One of the few coaches I've seen that doesn't play politics.

and I bet coach still has "juice" at the top of his list on best running backs he has coached. Didn't Willie White play at SC with Scott for a couple years before Willie went to TnTech? He was another great back. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
