Does an NAIA team have less talent than an NCAA 1 or 2 team

I have not been real impressed with SEC schools. Has UT-k done anything? I believe Lipscomb beat UT-K women in 2014 when they played. Just saying. Lipscomb has a fully funded D1 program with great recruiting with many recruits coming out of the ECNL. I am predicting a conference championship in the next 4 years. I have seen there 2015, 2014, and 2013 recruiting classes. Time will tell.

My daughter went to the Vandy ID camp in July and there were 80 kids from all over the country there.

Many of these kids played for top clubs in CA, TX and other states with decent soccer. Do colleges like Lee, Cumberland, David Lipscomb, etc... attract the same number of high level players?

You can have a great experience at a smaller school but to suggest more than a very few small schools have decent Div I talent is a huge stretch.

Watching Lipscomb, Belmont, Cumberland, Auburn, and Morehead proved to me that SEC players are much better in average than lower level schools and those schools were better than perinniel nationally ranked Cumberland.

Lipscomb probably isn't the best example to use. Their record over the past 5-6 years isn't very good. Regardless, soccer is no different than any other sport. The better players, in general, go to the Big 5 conferences. It is a simple matter of money and resources. Here are the current rankings >>> http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-women/d1

Do you see a pattern here?

Are you comparing UT to Lipscomb? A team that had been ranked in the top 20 the last two seasons? L

No comparing just not a fan of UT soccer, yet. Haven't been impressed since I have been watching them. I hope for something g big in the future that will change my opinion. I have had to resort to cheering for UCLA..

Go watch any SEC team a get back with me on the athleticism comparison. While Lipscomb is a fine program and may when an occasional game against bigger programs it isn't on the SEC level much less an ACC level.

Have watched the Lee and Lipcomb's

teams play.  They're good!  Suspect they beat UT, but are they comparable to the multiple top ODP players most ACC schools or west coast schools bring to the table?  No.  Auburn beats them soundly.  So does FL and AL I'm guessing.

AAA UTK's coach was National Coach of the year in 2010. This is his second year at UT and he just brought in a huge number of players after finishing 3rd in the SEC last year.

If you're not impressed with that guy not sure what you're looking for?

BTW I've seen Auburn, Belmont, Vandy and Lipscomb play in person. Auburn was outplayed by Vandy and tied as well as them tying UT.

The difference between those athletes is fairly decent across the board. That doesn't mean smaller schools don't have some great players but overall it's better talent. To suggest otherwise just simply isn't reasonable.

I am a UCLA fan. I hope UT-k can turn the program around consistently over the next several years. I think soccer hasn't been that great at UT-k historically. (Previous staff) "When I say that I mean compared to what my expectation is for a D1 yes SEC school.". Does anyone know what UT-C is doing? Are they fully funded and why are they not winning more.? Or is that a long political answer? Seems like a good small D1 school in a great soccer city like Chatt..!

Year   Season   Conference   GA & GF

2013   5-13-0     0-10-0             25-58

2012   3-13-1     1-10-0             16-48

2011   6-10-2     1-9-1               31-44

2010   4-13-2     2-7-2               20-41

....and more of the same to follow if one cares to dig it up

....this year(2014), UTC is 1-10-1 (no conference win) with there only win coming over Tennessee Temple, who's team got beat 5-0 by Boogerettes U17 travel team in a scrimmage and UTC's tie was to Alabama A&M who has not won a game this year and gone 13-54-4 in the same time frame....

....2004 was the last winning season or last time this coach fielded a team that went at least 50% in conference play if I am not mistaken

....Coach has been there 15 years, and has only had 2 seasons where he got his team above 50% in conference and those 2 season were prior to 2004 Booger believes

....Booger knows UTC does not support this program like some of the other program in this conference or any other conference they have been in; but they have been able at times to field some pretty decent talent and some of that locally; even today the guy coaching can't get off the very bottom of the conference...there have been a fair share of very talented girls from around the area over the years who would liked to have stayed close to home and played; but the writing is on the wall

...UTC's support of the program or a non-productive coach with a less than attractive coaching style, that had a warm spell 12-13 years ago for 2 years in a then weak conference

...where is the failure of their program, Tribefan? It lies right there in the preceding Booger Words. Which one carrys the most blame? Booger leaving that to each to voice; but I know one has been standing on the sidelines too long.

Booger just sayin

....and Booger sees most of the home games when he is not touring the world

....CORRECTION!!!!! UTC now 1-11-1; just went down to in conference UNCG 9-0

Booger still sayin

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
