I'll have to say in twenty odd years of walking or running the track during practices. I can honestly say... i have yet to see a one on one with a player teaching proper secondary technique or any DB technique for that matter...have you ever noticed that non of our guys knows how to back pedal or if they do I've never seen it used in a game.                                                                                                                   Could explain why we keep getting beat deep...i mean you just can't stand there flat footed giving a 8 yrd cushion and have the WR sprinting at you full speed ..wait till he gets to you then try to turn and run with him...don't care how fast you are.. your giving up two to three steps right there ...DUH!!!

Man you gotta keep some try to keep some cushion so you can either read the route and break on it or pivot and run if its deep route.

If that's the technique they wanna use then they would be better off just going bump and run and trying to jam them. Just saying

You have to think that the defensive backs are getting special attention this week in practice knowing that IMO they will make or break the Vikings in this game not just with coverage but open field tackles.

I can't help but notice the crickets that have been chirping in the background since along about post number 32. B) Doesn't anybody want to tell us AGAIN how good Science Hill is, or how unstoppable McGue is going to be, or maybe how the Vikings are going to get beat 120 to 5??!

I think with this SH offense, knocking the hill out of the topper who catches the ball,is about what you have to do.Unless, you have some lockdown defensive backs and they don't come along every day.I've seen many receivers arms shrink a foot after getting nailed .I know having a spy on whoever takes the snap will be hard, but that's always something to consider as well. Maybe the rain will give the Vikings a gift of 6 or 8 turnovers.

You have to catch him first.

We don't have to keep reiterating how good McGue and the rest of this SH team are. I'm pretty sure it's more than obvious at this point.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
