You win 35-7 and the fans should be happy.....tie everything up and head to the next one....on we go with more football.  Yada, Yada, Yada.  I can't venture getting too critical but this was not our best outing this season.  My guess is we kinda assumed Oakdale wouldn't put up much of a fight?  I know TL knew Oakdale did not preform to expectations the week before against Rockwood and he would be right.  It got to raining yellow flags for so long the kids uniforms should have changed that color.   Oneida was once in 2nd and 34.....and they about got it all back in a play.  One of them kinda nights.  The offensive line had played pretty well through much of this season had a tough night figuring how or who to block.  On the TD runs they were perfect.....a lot of the rest was not up to their standards.  I think we had 8 minus yardage plays and none of them were sacks.  In first half a punt was dropped (and I have serious question why the Eagle player was not flagged for halo rule on a fair catch)(the refs must have gotten tired of throwing them things?)  We had a certain TD pass dropped by receiver.  I love the kids and the staff.....like I said.....it was a rough patch.  Good lesson......great one before we play OS.  On we go.......

35-7 doesn't bother me, I'm not into hanging 80 on folks. I'm just not crazy about it taking 3 & 1/2 quarters to get there. Could've iced this one early but just didn't have that fire in their belly. Oakdale is definitely improved, good to see the progress BTW.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
