heatwave

FYI - heat of the moment after the Milan loss. I apologize. No, I am not Heatwave. Heatwave, you better watch Westview! And yes, another round in Alamo is what we both want. Milan guys: Your team won. No arguements. There were a lot of "distractions" that detracted attention from the actual game. Congrats, you deserve the win. Again, you are well coached and your players are....PLAY MAKERS. I will, again, say that this change of events has created a train-wreck going into the playoffs. And we love train-wrecks! Let's have fun getting ready for post-season. Hope to see you at some point, but regardless, I will be pulling for a West TN team!

will give you one thing. the clock not working sucked. clock got struck by lightning years ago and goes funky couple times a year. BUT the one in the pressbox did work and all the clock ref had to do was run up there and operate it per tssaa rules. but htat whole crew looked fat and lazy so he decided to keep it on the field instead of walking up the steps. whole crowd and both teams had to pay for his laziness. not Milan's fault. as for the field being soaked don't know anything about that. was on the field before game and didn't notice it. coulda been certain spots. anyway good luck rest of year

No worries brother. Good too know about the clock. We had the same snafu with the big, the bad, JC Sawyers stadium. Good luck to your men, and, all things right: West Tennessee brings home the championship. Even if it happens to be Heatwave...er, Crockett.

That's much better Trojan fan and Milan dude..... sometimes it is good to take a step back, get a breath and re evaluate the situation. Now we can return to normalcy well most of us anyway......

There are times when it's good to lose a game... so the experts say, I don't like losing ever, but I have seen it happen to good teams and it is like a light or a switch is flipped on and the team or person becomes responsive. If that is the case then Trojans let's go do this thang....Heatwave let's hope that Crockett gets tested before the playoffs, because sometimes when a good team like the one you have gets into tight games they don't respond good. Not wishing any misfortune on you unless you are playing the Trojans, but when the heat is on it's nice to know that you work good under pressure and you don't crack.

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few. And as far as Wilkins riding off into the sunset, where do y'all seem to think he will leave?? Wilkins is a healthy dude and he loves basketball and loves coaching. I wouldn't be suprised if he coaches a few more years. He loves the game and loves every minute of coaching.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
