Buddha14
the closer this gets i am also leaning towards the Eagles. They have played a tougher schedule with Huntland and Forrest. MTCS has played neither.
Buddha14
Rage- those were two very very good teams. We saw and lost to them both. Would have loved to see a good weather matchup between those two.
ttitan27
My boy plays for Eagleville. My friends son plays for MTCS. We had lunch yesterday and hashed it all out. My take on it is that they simply haven't played a decent team yet. However, they are winning the easy ones just like they are supposed to with blowouts. MTCS has some really good athletes but I don't know that their offensive line will be able to withstand the pass rush of the Eagles. MTCS also has a smaller team in numbers and this will definitely come into play late in the game. Eagleville struggled on offense early in the season and doesn't have the passing attack or run game that they had last year. However, they seem to have found their rhythm as of late with the run game and the passing game has improved as well. Lots of ways this game could go as far as score with it being a MTCS blowout to a low scoring affair but my feeling is that Eagleville will come from behind in the 4th quarter to win a tight game. tcbpharmd
Like I said before this game will be decided by MTCS offense against Eagleville defense. One thing that helps MTCS this year is they are 2 dimensional. If you stack the box they will throw it and if you sit back and try and stop the pass they can run. This should be a good game but I think MTCS offense has to many weapons.
Intense
Some of us West Tn fans are very interested in this 2A matchup. I know nothing about either team other than what I read on the T and their schedule. Based on that information I'm going with Eagleville in a close one. 840
That seems to be the take around these parts... MTCS is a solid club, but to stay they are on the level of a Adamsville TCA Marion or Trousdale is far fetched... To put it simply, the schedule has been weak and they have not to been tested... Eagleville has played Forrest Huntland and Mt Pleasant and has some Seniors that have been in some playoff games that will provide some experience in this scenario. Buddha14
I'm not sure im buying this MTC run game stuff. They didnt run for squat last year against Forrest. TCA- again- Eagleville much less intimidating than last year. IDK if you saw them or not since Adamsville took them out in the playoffs. Buddha14
840 i think there's a pretty significant dropoff, at least thru last year's playoff, between the 4 teams you mentioned and the rest of 2A. I'd love for Forrest to get there, and i think they can, eventually.
cardfan
ok so if eagleville beats mtcs then how does the region or district (whatever you guys refer to it as) shake out. Huntland is champs if they win out. Who else has a chance at being the champ and what must happen for them to achieve it. Forrest, Eagleville have a chance at no 1? Buddha14
Huntland is a 1A school. Dunno how them winning the district affects us but if Forrest wins out, including a win over MTCS, they would be the highest finishing 2A team. Forrest already beat Eagleville this year.
