LOPAO.....it has been rare for the Jasperlites to look forward to feuding with the Pirates of late, the kinfolkes best pray Halloween don't bring more trick than treat! BTW, pert near guarantee there will signs posted NO TITHING OR LOVE OFFERING PLATES ALLOWED AT THE SPEEDWAY......yep, recon so. BTW, TTP, OP knows Yous out there, jest what does the good book say about worshipping false Gods aka SOS?

Sp will have to pull some tricks to stay in that game, that's for sure. I am guessing you are going to dress as the incredible hulk for Halloween? You won't even have to use paint because you are green with envy because you have a career .500 coach. Nothing wrong with a coach that preaches discipline, unless you aren't used to it with the former coach, then it becomes a problem.

The former coach preached a lot of discipline. Sadly some of that has seemed to decline.

As for this game, this will be comparable to sp and will help get us prepared for them. Never thought I would compare ccs to sp.......Lol. I don't expect us to beat ccs as bad as signal did, but then again I didn't expect us to give up less yards to seq than nd did. This team has improved a ton since the first of the season and to be in the situation we were at qb,you have to give the offensive coordinator credit for turning a tight end into a functional qb. Like I said the defense will keep us in any game we play and the magic number is 21 for us to score. There are a ton of underclassmen getting playing time on this team, even when the starters are in. Most sp fans hoping that we will have a down year next year are going to be sadly mistaken. The whole o-line returns next year I think and we will have several fast backs, especially in year two of the speed program. 31-14 mc

I called the school and asked them just because. They said they were staying in 2A.

Thanks for ruining my weekend lol. The last time we played them was in the '08 semis. They had run through everybody that year (except Maryville). We were close till the 4th and just wore down. One of their players was quoted in the Knoxville paper saying "This was a fun game because nobody has played us this tough all year. It's nice to punch somebody in the mouth and them punch you right back." I am old enough to remember going up there on our 1990 state run and beating them 42-0.

The middle school beating sp 34-8 last week bodes well too.

What kind of mess is this?  You Marion people tried all kinds of tricks last year.  Getting that Hale man to practice with you, painting field houses and no telling what else.  I garuntee you that Moore man wont try any tricks like that.  That Moore man has won 2 championships in a row.  That Ross man has one won championship out of 6.  That is not a real good record.  You think im joking but im not.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
