Your totally wrong AC is totally avoiding CC. I talked to coach price and he tried multiple times to keep them on the schedule. Why would you travel all the way to Greeneville or Morristown to play a game where you could play CC and make a very good gate. I bet Gilliam fear losing to CC. There NO excuse for it

Their is no reason to play CC... But if CC wanted to keep playing AC your coaches should have not canceled the JV and Feshman games with AC this year. The one CC coach throwing a temper tantrum after the AC/CC game was fun to watch....lol  Not saying that had anything to do with it. But didnt Johnny Bruce try to kick Norris out of the leauge for beating the snot out of Jacksboro and Lafollette? Because they play play to rough....lol They forfitted the Laff game and they both forfitted the playoffs. It's fun hearing all the CC fans crying over this game not being played... I talked to the Norris coach (Noe) and they said they are in the leauge with Oak Ridge now. So now it looks like AC schools is not playing any Campbell County teams in High School and Middle School. So CC can schedule the Lynn Camps, Cumberland gap and teams alike and tell each other how great they are and how AC is scared to play them...lol

Ha, so you are questioning why AC would want to schedule a team that over the last 5 years  has gone 60-9 (14-3 in post season) and won 2 state titles over playing CC?  Maybe you should ask yourself that same question and throw out the money factor.  AC is now having to compete with the likes of Fulton and Catholic In their district so they picked up non district games with teams that will help them get better over the coarse of the year, I am sorry you are sour about that but it is what it is, maybe we would have lost, I don't know, but then again all I heard going into this season was how we were going to get beat because AC was down and CC was up and how exactly did that work out?  Like I said before, maybe CC just isn't as relevant as they like to think, I mean 2 of the non district opponents we picked up have a 5 year combined record of 107-25 and a playoff record of 22-8, I am sure there may be many reasons that AC did not play CC but I can assure you being afraid of losing to them was not it

I just think it funny Anderson County would play them every year when they was a bad football program. Now the Price twins has Campbell County starting to play well Anderson County will not play.

AC and CC played back in the 80s to mid 90s. Didn't played each from about '96 to about 09 or '10 when AC went to 5A. If they had played during those years, don't CC would have a chance, except the year CC Had Chris Johnson. Still don't think they would have a chance then either.

SO, it's not like AC & CC have been playing consecutively that long anyway.

Merry Christmas to all Maverick Fans. It has been another awesome year for the Mavs. 7-0 for the first time in school history, 8th straight trips to the playoffs, including 12 out of the last 15 years and 21 times in the schools 32 year history to the playoffs. Coach Gillum, Chadwell, Cross, Slone, Bass, Coach Russ and Coach Terry have had the Mavericks in the playoffs each of 6 years that Coach Gillum has been the head man. A lot to be proud of, and a lot to look forward to with one of the biggest and strongest incoming freshman classes we have had. Please be sure to sign up at acmaverickfootball.com for another drawing on Christmas Eve. Go Mavericks, HookEm

Congratulations to Maverick RB Matt Fox and OL Josh Edwards for making the 2015 Tennessee Kentucky All Star Border Bowl to be played January 10 at the University of the Cumberlands. This game is always a good one to watch. Make plans to attend and these two Mavericks strap it on one more time in a high school game.

Congrats to those two young men. Fox is a dandy football player and I hope he gets a shot at the next level.

6'5 Offensive Lineman Bronson Black signed his letter of intent with the University of the Cumberlands. His best football appears to be ahead of him as he got a late start for the Mavericks. He is very smart with a high ACT score and GPA.

Junior QB Tate Holmes finished third in the state in his weight class in wrestling forth Mavericks. Look for big things from him as he now goes into the weight room and gets ready for his senior season as the Mavericks QB. He has the mental toughness and smarts to run Coach Gillums offense. should be a fun year to watch the QB position at AC.

    • Had what I believed would’ve been a good one hired but he showed up and smelled the cooking going on and said no thanks.
    • Yeah.  Kids only transfer in and out of Bearden these days, you know.   That particular poster evidentially has a personal vendetta with Josh Jones.   Consider the source.  And the kid transferring to McCallie is a terrific talent, but an opportunity to go to McCallie on scholarship (and I am assuming that is the case) is one that is very much beneficial both athletically and academically.  McCallie is a great school for both.   Bearden will be fine.  And so will both of those kids who decided with their parents/advisors to go elsewhere.
    • I think we are conducting interviews now since we have so many wanting to come to school here and play for a real team with a chance to play in front of lot's of fan's and have a chance to win a championship every year.
    • Esteemed colleagues, On this auspicious Saturday morning, I fortuitously encountered Dr. Satterfield at the Early Bird Cafe, whereupon we engaged in a discourse concerning the pool of candidates vying for a coveted position. Dr. Satterfield, possessing a discerning eye, has graciously shared insights into the contenders, which I shall now relay to you in a structured manner. Eric Vetetoe, though initially absent from my considerations, ascended to the zenith of Clint's roster, poised atop his discerning clipboard as a preeminent candidate. Kyle Gregory, with a coaching demeanor reminiscent of a bygone era, has captivated Clint's admiration. His interview performance, I am informed, left an indelible impression, aligning seamlessly with Clint's nostalgic sentiments. Davy Cothron's cerebral approach to offense, notwithstanding a past championship game setback, garners high praise from Dr. Satterfield. His strategic acumen, it appears, remains unblemished despite previous trials. Brandon Eden's steadfast allegiance to the team, evidenced by his tenure on the creekbank, earns him considerable favor in Clint's estimation. Anticipation lingers as to whether an offer may be extended in recognition of his unwavering dedication. Wesley Satterfield emerges as a compelling candidate following a favorable assessment by Mr. Satterfield himself. The prospect of a Satterfield succession holds a certain allure, embodying continuity and tradition in equal measure. Kyle Shoulders, a surprising entrant in the applicant pool, impresses Clint with his football intellect, potentially positioning him as a contender for the role. Josh Hackett's defensive prowess, particularly in encounters against Trousdale over recent years, earns commendation from Coach Satterfield, underscoring his proficiency in the strategic aspects of the game. John McNeal's track record of success across multiple sports affords him undeniable merit, though the prospect of his acceptance, if offered, remains uncertain. Chad Evitts, a former NFL luminary, presents a unique opportunity, recognized keenly by Mr. Satterfield, to infuse our program with elite expertise and experience. Matt Dyer, revered for his contributions during the regular season, faces scrutiny for his playoff performances, a dichotomy that weighs upon Clint's evaluation. Chuck Gentry, endorsed by Dr. Satterfield, embodies the promise of transformative leadership, drawing parallels to his past triumphs in revitalizing programs akin to ours. Clint extols BJ West's astute management at the middle school echelon, where his strategic maneuver of strategically calibrating the team's schedule to optimize performance stands as a testament to his sagacity and acumen in navigating competitive dynamics. In conclusion, the deliberations surrounding our prospective leadership remain nuanced and multifaceted, underscoring the significance of this decision in shaping the future trajectory of our esteemed institution.
