What happened to all our college wrestlers?

I noticed a bunch of our natives are no longer listed on college rosters. What happened to all of them? Heres a few I noticed were missing, maybe someone could help me out here...

Kaleb Baker -- Not at ASU anymore, I heard he may be at Chatt but hes not listed on their roster either.

Michael Hooker -- I know he joined the Army, does anybody know if hes going to be wrestling for them? He had the returning Olympic Trials champ beat last summer and got screwed out of it.

TJ Duncan -- Went to Maryland then transfered and won a National Title at Shorter University, but what happened after that?

Im sure there are others but I was sitting back wondering what happened with some of our top athletes. Anybody know?

Hooker is training with the Army for international competitions and I'm sure he will do very well. Not sure about the others. I was unaware that Duncan won a National Championship for Shorter. What year and what weight?

Most who sign on to wrestle in college don't make it. It aint easy.

Alex Manley:  133@ Stanford, The Baylor School

Cole Moseley:  149@ American University, Father Ryan

Zach Watson:  133@ University of Virginia, The Baylor School

Mark Marchetti:  149@ United States Military Academy, Father Ryan

Collin McNally:  125@ Western Colorado State University, Father Ryan

Adam Connell:  United States Naval Academy Prep School, The McCallie School

Michael Hooker:  Training Greco Roman with US All Army Team in Colorado, Father Ryan

John Hagey:  174@ Air Force Academy, Father Ryan

Michael Eckhart:  157 @American University, Father Ryan

It's most apparent that these wrestlers received a strong academic base which gave them multiple options when they were selecting colleges.

There are a bunch of our boys at King still competing also. Cody Davis (PF), Jon Boatman (Greeneville), Blaike Henry (Soddy), Andrew Armstrong (Sullivan S), Josh Spangler (TN High), Jeremy and Jackie Miller (Greenback).

Cullen King (Cordova) and Justin Cash (Brentwood) are also on the roster, but I believe they are done now. Cullen had a solid season there. Cash was just there briefly.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
