How many of y'all are going to the Dresden/Westview alumni game?

Doubt if I make the 950 mile drive but it should be fun to watch. My boy was all fired up about it then decided not to play. Pretty sure it was because Raymer and Swafford cant play in it because they are on active college rosters. Hopefully no one will fall and break a hip.

Van Dyke is fun to watch for sure. He is probably in the best shape of his life right now, although he is quite a bit smaller than he was while playing. Last time I talked to him he was adamant that he was done with football. He had a couple bad concussions at University of the Cumberlands. I'd like to see him play but I'm not sure I would risk it.

He swore up and down that he wouldn't play. Then he went to a practice and was the most athletic player there. He ran around everyone like it was a joke. Then he got on his phone and signed up. Who knows if his mind will change again. I wouldn't play in his situation.

He came by the house over Christmas break and you can tell he is in great physical shape. Running and doing the cross fit thing. As much as I would like to see him play the old man dad in me thinks it isn't a good idea. Somebody tape it for me and post it on You Tube. Heck I may just fly home to see it.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
