I've noticed that we (WC fans) have bounced around from thread to thread. So I figured, might as well start our 2015 thread and maybe talk about the season that just ended for us.

I would say it's gonna be hard to replace the senior class. But let's be honest lol, just about all of them went down to an injury at some point this year. I'm not totally sure how many seniors we lose?

Also, I guess I like the new region but idk.

The teams we will be for sure playing next year: Clarksville Acad, Collinwood, Hollow Rock-Bruceton, Houston Co, Huntingdon, McEwen, and Perry Co.

I don't know guys I'm concerned about the O line and D line next year. I'm sure we will win a bunch of games just with our backfield that returns but you win in November at the line of scrimmage. We need studs up front to make a real run.

I totally agree and losing #70 is gonna hurt bad!

As for coach Pierce, I have heard the same thing. I was told by a family member of his that he was retiring, but I seriously doubt that he will.

I really hope 14-15 is like 08-09.  We were 9-3 in '08, lost to a really good Jo Byrns team in the second round, graduated the majority of our offensive and defensive lines, but kept the entire backfield. We did pretty darn well in the '09 playoffs.

Although the injuries (particularly to the line) were tough to go through this year, I think it will help next year's transition.

I expect us to do very well in the regular season too; but, we'll have to be far more consistent with protecting the football, penalties, etc. than we were this year to get past the early rounds.  Our playoff bracket with Huntingdon, Trousdale County, Nashville Christian, Middle TN Christian, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, and Clarksville Academy is a killer.  They basically took all of the successful 1A (and 2A) Middle TN teams, and stuck them altogether with Huntingdon. It will be a huge battle royale through the third round.

Wayne County, NCS and Trousdale should be the front runners in the west in 2015.

WC success is going to come down to whether or not they can get some lineman to step up, I been thinking this for two years and that's why I argued with you about next year being WC's year. If WC had stayed healthy this year I think it would have been the best team they will field for a couple years. WC will be loaded with skill players next year but can't name one starting lineman as of right now.

I was thinking about who was starting in the line at the beginning of the year. WC will return Horton and Skelton at d ends and you will probably have Floyd and Birchette on the offensive lines. Yes my youngest will be a freshman and I don't think any freshman is ever ready to take a spot, maybe help with some depth. There's some talent coming from middle school but they got a lot of work to do between now and next year.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
