Darel has the world at his fingertips in terms of the athletic talent he posesses as a football player. I don't think he fully realizes his potential surprisingly, but obviously if Alabama has offered they see that potential.

Oak Ridge will prepare him for school academically. Their kids usually do very well in college.  The achievement they expect academically makes college a lot easier.  I am glad my daughter moved back to the area and I'm glad my grand kids are part of Oak Ridge schools. If you guys go down on property taxes, I would move back. lol. I miss downtown Oak Ridge and Po Folks! Bring it Back!!!!!

Darel is learning a lot on the fly.  People close to him says he always talks about he has to learn to do things different and sometimes that's tough.  I hear he has a good relationship with Coach Gaddis, meaning he trusts him enough to talk to him and respects him. The best look was after a game and Gaddis said something to him in his ear (of course he had to bend down) and Darel gave that big smile. And I remember seeing him crying after Rhea County game.  For me that put it in perspective. He's a kid.
