So I notice that Latham is now at 195 and English was not wrestling. What's the current story on that situation?

Not sure myself. I would be surprised of Lathem beat English in a wrestle off. Maybe English is injured?

Tennessee High representing Region 1 in Chattanooga this weekend at the Bradley Invitational. After day 1, we sit at 5th in the team race (with 11 wrestlers). We have Trent Nelson, Corbin Hurley, and

Jefferson over DB tonight 37-33.

Key wins: Jeff was able to get a big win at 138 against Jeffers with a last 10 second reversal to win 2-1. The 182 for Jeff looked very solid (region finalist if English doesn't drop). Townsend was able to beat Ruth 3-1 at HWT.

 

Exciting match that could have gone either way.

The Hill will wrestle Pigeon Forge and Bradley tonight starting at 4:30. Both of the teams are the top ranked teams in the state in their respective divisions. This will be a great test of our skill and fortitude. As will Fandetti tomorrow. Great wrestling will be at The Hill over the next two days!

Who will be at region duals?

TN High and DB from District 1. Their head to head match on 1/20 decides seed.

 

Looks like Jefferson Co. (#1) and Morristown East (#2) from District 2. East beat West in December per Track.

 

That 1/20 TN / DB match will be important as it would be an easier path not wrestling Jeff Co. in the 1st round.

      If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.

      I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
