Good Luck to 7A teams but wish all safe travels.

From reading the thread you started on the boys side I believe you are somewhat biased toward 7a.  Clarkrange, Watertown, Pickett, and JC should cruise, but RBS did give JC all they wanted in the game at RBS during the season so that game has some potential to be close.  People should get their money worth in the region semis though, should be 2 good games!

Watertown big over Monterey, Crange by as many as they want, same for PC and JC wins by 14. What i cannot understand is how these same teams are playing today that couldn't possibly play yesterday. Not that much has changed but thats just my opinion....

Obviously you have not been aware of the ice and wind storm that toppled over 300 utility poles in the area. Both Hwy 62 and Hwy 127 were impassable for a bus until Monday. Goodpasture still had to exit at Crossville to come up. Also, there was a little issue of no electricity. I still don't have electricity, but you know. No way Clarkrange could travel on Sat or Sunday.

He is well aware of the terrible ice situation, as I was also iced/snowed in my house for 5 days. I tend to agree with him on the fact that not much has changed from Sunday to Monday. If Goodpasture was expected to travel to Clarkrange on Monday, I think the games could have been played Sunday in Livingston. Just my opinion. But time to move on.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
