Will Dekalb Co be able to score on Warren Co?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I think DeKalb will score on Warren County, early and often. Reason I believe this is severe lack of discipline. From what I hear is nothing has changed in this department. Players that have missed all of off season workouts for whatever reason being allowed back on the team with open arms. The only reason a kid should miss workouts is if they are playing another sport that is in season. If you want to miss football workouts because you've got summer baseball or basketball then make a choice, if you've got to work and miss then make a choice. Id rather have a team with 50 kids that is dedicated to improving the football program and will be there everyday than have a roster of 80 that only half of them really care. I've already heard every excuse about this kid has it rough, this one can't get a ride, this one needs the program, etc. This isn't the federal government, where your given a free ride off the sweat of others.

WC is on the thin side for athletes period. We need the handfull we have to play all the sports they want to. I don't care if your son is scared of competition or not.

I don't have a child playing on the team so your argument about that in invalid. The saying is sports in general prepares a person for life, so you're saying that it's ok if instead of showing up for work everyday, putting in the time to hone your craft, etc. it is acceptable to lay out by the lake, ride dirt bikes with your friends, float the river, ride around all the while your co-workers (teammates) are working hard and doing things the right way, yet you should be allowed to just show whenever you feel like it and get the same paycheck as the ones that have been actually putting in the time? I bet you burn the flag and believe in socialism also

NOPE! not at all, If players are playing "other sports" they should be allowed to come back when football starts back in July. If they are just being lazy then they should not be back. Some kids have to work a couple of jobs and may not make all the work outs but the coaches should work around their schedules and help accommodate as much as they can.

"coaches should work around their schedules and help accommodate" their future bosses won't do this. Football is a comittment, either your all in or all out. When July hits, all other things besides family and school should be secondary. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

A player will always have a good idea what type of schedule they will have when it comes to football in the summer. They should schedule their work hours around football, not the other way around. 95% of all employers will work with their employees so they can do all the required summer activities when it comes to sports, and still work them enough so they will have a little money in their pockets too.

If an athletes family is bad enough off where they rely on their child's small amount of income from an after school part-time job to help get them all by, and that athlete has to miss practice, camps, etc. to work, then maybe that athlete should take a hard look at what his main priorities in life should truly be. Football is not the most important thing in life. If your family is suffering greatly financially, and relying on your income, maybe you should put work first, and not even play football. If you're apart of a team, you should give it 100% of your all. You can't be missing practices, camps, and all of that other good stuff.

I guess that's the biggest difference between some programs and others, some kids have been raised right and know what it means to make a commitment to something while others haven't. Some coaches let things slide while others prepare their players not only for the season, but for adult life.
