GREENBACK "Cherokees" vs LOUDON "Redskins"

Loudon lost a lot of linemen from last season. I know they are 3A, but I'm still surprised Greenback lost this game. Did you just have a bad game or what? How did the former Loudon kid look tonight for Greenback?

The transfer from Loudon was a non factor. Was only on the field half the time and done nothing when he was in. I guess all his friends from Loudon were tired of hearing how he was going to destroy them. Sometimes lip service just won't get it done.

When I played at Maryville we were always neck and neck with Loudon and whoever won that game usually had a good chance to win the state back when only eight teams went to the playoffs. Fast forward the clock over thirty years and now Greenback and Loudon play neck and neck. If someone had told me that thirty five years ago I would have horse laughed you right in the face. Time flies and strange things happen.

Decrease in Loudon talent because of graduation. Loudon belted Greenback by 14,it wasn't very close in the end. I listened to the Loudon broadcast of the game.

Both but Loudon Football has sunk to a lower depth than I ever thought could be possible, the same goes for Kingston. Those teams were power houses in the 70's now their only a memory.

Looked like crap is a little too far. They didn't look great but not like crap. At times they moved the ball very well. There were some bright spots, just too many turnovers and when the Roberts kid got hurt it made things worse. Also, just for the record, Silvey never attended Loudon. He transferred from Catholic.

All TOs were on the ground. All different players. Opening drive fumble, another run later fumble, another fumble we recovered, long pass with score 10-7 before half caught and ran about 10 yards and was hit and fumble. We would have been in business to score before half expired. QB RB exchange in 2nd half fumble. QB too blame for that one. You know you have to own it! Then another fumble. Then we answered back with TD throws to Kilpatrick as 3rd qtr expired. Then another long TD pass to Caldwell in 4th and 2pt conversion to get to 1 point game. Loudon came right back and scored on the ground. We muffed kickoff and Loudon got ball near their goal line and scored again. Roberts was out the whole 2nd half and many starters were sidelined throughout for this and that. It really hurt our D when Ogle was ejected early. Loudon attacked that side of the field. Went away from Kilpatrick and Willis most of night. All things that can be fixed!

Look at the two towns. Loudon,Kingston and many other small towns are the same size they were 35 years ago. Maryville has grown into a large city. Also Blount Co. has open enrollment where kids can go to Maryville and Alcoa. You can't blame those kids for wanting to play there but small schools lose what good players  they have. Also you have Catholic,CAK,Webb,Grace taking good players from these schools. When you play with what comes in the door it's tough to compete. Not making excuses for them it's just the nature of high school football these days.
