patience. its a lot of youth and inexperienced line payers. plus DB has had numerous players out for the pre-season. Should look more like a team come thursday night with Dunn getting back into the pads finally. DB prob will be a passing team first until the line players figure out how to hold a block, not very good running the ball right now.

QB made advances last scrimmage even though bad numbers, 7 straight dropped passes hurt numbers. best players in scrimmages imo: ivan phillips LB blake rodgers RB

Hummmm .. One dimensional for awhile is not good and can't catch , spells "disaster" !! If these players are not catching the ball "who is coaching them" ...... The qb and Dunn/Rodgers sounds like the carriers of the team for now !!!

So your saying 5-6 loss season !!! When's the last time DB lost their first game ? I know it's been awhile !! ... Could be a long season ....

Dang!  Calm down. Defense should be good. Offense will learn as the season goes along. If they can get to the end of the season without key injuries they should be a very good team going into the playoffs. This is a pretty young team.

Heard they had better performances against Greeneville and Knox Grace. The scrimmage last Friday showed they needed some improvement.

Yeah we did well vs Greeneville and smacked Grace after a slow start. Union played extremely physical and i think we didn't really care. Coach Mays was not happy after the Union game that's for sure.

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
