The weather looks like it will be great. Hope there is a big crowd at Vandy. Should be a great game. CPA really did not have the pass much in their game plan due to the strength of Peachtree being their defensive backfield. I would expect CPA to open up a bit more this week, but Martin is a bit old school in that he runs first until the other team stops it.

CPA's first 5 games are like playoff games in terms of competition. If they can stay healthy, will be great preparation for the playoffs.

If Catholic is down, why would CAK not want to play Catholic?

I honestly don't know all the dynamics in this match up. All I can tell you is that if CAK wanted to have their best chance to beat Catholic, it would have been the 2011 and 2012 championship years, and this year, not the last 2 years, when CAK did actually play Catholic. Catholic won both of those games as CAK was in a definite rebuilding period. CAK took Catholic literally to the wire in 2013, and lost with a QB making a decision to keep on a goal line play where the RB stepped easily into the endzone while the QB who kept got tackled easily. It was the decisive play in the game and cost CAK the win. That QB did not play for CAK much longer.  I don't know how a match up between the two of them would have come out this year, but I like our chances. Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with anything at CAK including my two kids are long since graduated. I'm just a fan of the program.

GoVolsKnox I always enjoy reading your posts. I think they're always accurate and never demeaning to either programs or players.

I think CAK really should have won two years ago but made a few critical mistakes. Last year they just hit Catholic at the wrong time and ran into a buzz saw.

This may come across as egotistical but I think both CAK and Webb thought they would probably lose to us again. If a potential middle school football player was trying to evaluate which school had the best program for the future, I think it would be easy to point out the success we've had the last few years. Webb running the Wing-T is going to discourage a passing QB (like the one starting at Catholic now that transferred from there) and WRs. CAK has a great offensive system from a passing standpoint so maybe more RBs and defensive players would gravitate to Catholic.

But Catholic was down in 2011 and 2012.  If that's case then they should have played consistently over the years. And in 2013, Catholic was playing a lot of freshman and a QB who was moved from wide receiver. About as even as you can get. However, we've had this discussion already and since there is no need for redundancy lets move forward amicably.

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
