District 8AA 2015-2016

I would sure hate to be coaching in this district right now!! Can't be getting much sleep at this point. 1 very good team is not even going to make the region tournament. I mean a very good team. Unbelievable. Gonna be interesting to see how it all shakes out!

Smith won over DeKalb by 20. 

 

Upperman beat Cannon 78-53. 

 

LA beats York in a thriller, 76-73. LA was down 17 at one point. 

 

Macon won by 20 or so over Magnet.

Upperman and Dekalb played monday 2-1-16, Upperman won by 25. So DC is 1-11 and Upperman is 9-3. SC at York tomorrow is the only remaining make-up game.

I seen on a post a while back about the POY...

It should be Blevins from York, But POY should to a kid who is taking his team to a winning standard... York is now 6-6 in play and SC is 10-2 if I ain't mistaking.. What about the Shepperson kid out of SC? He is only a sophomore and dropped 26 points and 8 boards, with Blevins guarding him all night... believe I heard he has 9 double doubles and mainly he has taken his team to a 10-2 record in district... Or you could throw the huff kid in the mix also from sc, or guffey from upperman... These should be the top 4 candidates but like I said mainly the mvp is the athlete who is taking his team on deep runs..

not sure blevins is POY. he has the most potential as a college player, but we can all agree that york has under achieved. this district is full of good talent. POY should be someone that lead his team to a higher level of success than anticipated.

Blevins should be poy,he should not be held responsible for what his teammates can or cannot do.

And who was it that missed 2 free throws, down by 1, with like 15 seconds left in the game vs LA? That was a point to prove why you should get POY. Not saying he isn't deserving of this, but to make statements about his teammates like that are off.

I would agree with you if Blevins was the only player worth anything on the team. They have a pure shooter in #3. Blevins will have a bright future in basketball! I just think the POY should come from a team that finishes at least in the Top 4.

This Dragon's team is very frustrating to watch. The inconsistency is hard to describe, and I am not talking about inconsistencies from game to game. Never seen a team that can look like the best team in the district by far for 2 quarters and the other 2 they would struggle to beat a poor Single A team.

 

Some of you will laugh at this but I could honestly see us getting it together and still winning the Region and at the same time I could see us losing in the 1st Round of the district by 20.

 

Jekyll and Hyde doesn't even begin to describe this team. Hope the kids can regroup and pull it together.
