Old Pirate says the Jasper youngons is a might tuckered out after all the feuding with the SP kinfolkes but this will be a boring stroll in the park.

They'll be tuckered out today for sure. Coach Ross lit them up after the game and told them to be prepared to run ropes on Monday. You would have thought he had lost 62-21.

Old Pirate wants to paint you fellers a picture. Afterall even ESPN knows you Jasper fellers like painting! LOPAO.....OP recorded the game and replayed it a couple of times. The SOS states leaving the field at the end of the 1st half, "They are showing a lot of window dressing, they are running plays we never practiced for." Wow, did the genius look at any game film other than the SC & BC games? In the nut shell, he didn't give the Pirates credit for taking it to them & Vic for devising an attack with starters healthy exposed the fact the Warrior defense is not nearly as invincible as you fellers say. Next....at end of the game the SOS says, " They started running offensive plays we had practiced for" - basically saying the Pirates weren't able to continue to run the plays they ran the first half and started to run the plays he had trained his players for. Now, today you fellers is saying the SOS is not happy with the play of the players. The SOS is placing all.....the blame on the players and not himself. Whose fault is it the players weren't prepared? A better coach would have surely looked at past SP games and would have known the spread & shotgun has been in the playbook for years. You Jasperlites are truly still in a hypnotic state of mind. Really the players are the ones blamed....unbelievable, No it really isn't thou....is it? LOPAO......... Edited by OLD PIRATE

If you're gonna paint that picture be sure to do it up here where the lights will be on. All coach t knows about the lights getting shut off on us last year. Part of that interview he said he tipped his hat to you guys for the game plan. You guys look at those interviews like you do the bible I guess. Just pick out what suits you. Sad sad sad.

As for the part about being upset with the players it was over all the penalties. Penalties that helped sp sustain drives. Never should have scored 21 pts.

This is the truth. For all Vic's jenius game plan, SP was almost out gained by the penalty yards MC gave them.

Little Rikki, Old Pirate says you Jasper fellers fail to get it. The Pirates are a fair team in 1A and had 300 yds of offense. Old Pirate guarantees there are far better teams in 2A that will cross the Warriors path. The Pirates success should have opened some eyes to identify weaknesses that will surely be exploited . Now as for the penalties, they have plagued the Warriors all year. You kinfolkes take offense when anyone points out weaknesses. There is something caused constructive criticism

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
