warmachine7954
Keep in mind tons of things change from this age until it's time to go to college. Right now we've got a ton of seniors. The one kid everyone was talking about when they were in middle school doesn't have any schools looking at him but his classmates have multiple schools on their heels. DCTIGERFAN
Coach Barnes had better get in on this talent early and start establishing relationships.
BigBoy10
A ranking in the 7th grade is about as useless as a screen door on a submarine. The only thing those lists are good for is screwing up a kid's head. The last thing you want as a parent or a coach is for a kid to think he "has arrived" in middle school. All it does is put a bunch of sharks in the water to start harrassing these kids and get them thinking about all the wrong things.

DougS
these players have put in the work to be ranked with others their age. The challenge becomes when the 6ft, 7th grader does not grow another inch. Now as a high school player, they go from being the tallest and most talented on the court to being just another good player. this is why any basketball player should work on ball handling and mid-range shooting more than working on post moves or 3-pt shooting. the same saying goes today as it was years ago.... 15ft jumper is worth 15 million dollars
DIIA
...or the "adults" in the lives of the kids could let the 12 year olds be 12 year olds.
