BeardenBulldog65
Maybe Science Hill will have a terrible bus ride, be distracted by all of this Steve Spurrier talk, and slip up and let the Dawgs hang around enough to make it interesting. Thoughts? Oh and this is essentially for the #2 seed in Region 1-6A.

Just something about them! Maybe you all can come away with it. Y'all's QB is good. If y'all can spread the field and throw the long ball, y'all will and can have a lot of success. Hope so anyways! Science Hill will without a doubt be the heavy favorite and rightfully so, but what do you think the keys are for Bearden to pull the upset, since you guys were so close? Acumen
SH has been playing good football since the Maryville debacle. Defense has given up a total of 6 touchdowns since that game (5 games) and are creating turnovers. On offense we have had 8 different players score TDs in the last two games (Perkins, Mathes, Smith,Martin, Russell, Holley, Adams, Bedard). Our QB has thrown for 6 TDs and over 500 yards the last two games even with a bad knee from the Hardin Valley game that has limited his mobility. The kids know if they win they will lock up second place no matter the outcome of the DB game the following week so they are out on the field today getting focused and prepared for a very good opponent Friday night. It is going to be a tough game and the kids know it. They need to play mistake free football and clean up silly penalties. They will come ready to play 48 minutes of tough football. Go Toppers! BeardenBulldog65
We're looking forward to have you guys down here. Weather looks nice from the long outlook. It's been a few years since we've hosted a game or even played in one with implications like this one. Should be fun.

Throw the long ball. Our coaches did not turn Cole lose and stuck with the flipping run game for the most part. SH safeties are not that fast. Our wr burnt them on long balls. Had several 50 plus yard throws for TD or to get in scoring position. Got to stop their rb/qb. He was the one that hurt us. The final thing is. When you get a chance to score, SCORE! We had two balls hit our wr in the chest wide open in the end zone that was drops that lead to 0 points on both drives. We killed our selfs. After watching Bearden play, it doesn't look like y'all make many mistakes so it should be a good game.

blazer1set
Everybody @ the Hill will say the most important game is the next one (in this case, Bearden) and nobody is thinking about DB, yadda-yadda-yadda, but let's get real, the Science Hill sharks smell blood in the water because the wheels are coming off the bus at DB and SH is playing some really good ball right now. SH is desperate to really stick it to DB again this year and firmly cement themselves as the Alpha team in NET. With the showdown in Kingsport coming up next week Bearden could easily catch SH off-guard. Side note: The rumor mill has it that the DB chefs are cooking up something special for the Hill this year. Want to know more? Sorry, you'll have to wait until the DB/SH thread gets started next week.
TicketToRide
Throw the long ball. Our coaches did not turn Cole lose and stuck with the flipping run game for the most part. After watching Bearden play, it doesn't look like y'all make many mistakes so it should be a good game. The field was pretty wet that night, IIRC. You guys completed two passes over 50 yards. You also blocked a punt in the 4th qtr to take the lead. With the game on the line SHHS drove 65 yards to take the lead back. Then they stuffed the center into the QB on the final play. Your QB fumbled but it was wrongly called an incomplete pass. We beat BC on your turf in the rain. On a dry field, that game is a minimum 2 TD victory for SHHS. Big win for the TOPPERS. And that was game 2. They've improved vastly. The Toppers are hitting on all cylinders right now. Mathes, Martin and Perkins are making it not necessary for Bedard to run. Defense is starting to jell. I expect SHHS beats Bearden 21 points. Unless, of course, I jinx them. But no one is looking ahead except maybe a few fans.

Of course Carter won't advocate looking ahead, he won't even mention the letters "D" and "B", but I guarantee you the players know who is coming up next week. Especially since Jeff Co. is considered a cream puff, not the same as Volunteer and Central, but an easy win nonetheless. That is why JC has a chance to catch SH off-guard.
