Alcoa would have beaten Trezevant by 4TDs this year. Trezevant was fortunate to have beaten both Mitchell and Waverly and the Marion Co. game was a win against a team that wasn't athletically better than the majority of the teams that reached the 3A State Playoffs this past season. Liberty could very well be better than Trezevant.

High was in a perfect offense with a great back in Rathbone and two of the best receivers to ever play in the state in Smith and Howell. The 2011 playoff game and the two games in 2012 were classics. Those three games plus the game with CPA in 2014 and the quarterfinal game with Elizabethton in 2016 were the 5 times that Alcoa looked "matched" by another 3A football team.

Howell was a system player. He was not one of the best receivers to ever play in Tennessee. He was perfect for a system playing in a class with very little DB talent. He couldn't make it off Utc practice squad. A top receiver to ever play in the state could earn some playing time at UTC. Smith was a stud however.

 

It's a shame because CAK had never beat Webb. Those were the years they should have played us.
