IrishDadRedux
Don't believe that Irish lineup is even in its final form yet, as at least one Ryan starter did not make the trip...probably tough for Cleveland, Bradley, and Baylor to swallow, but I think Father Ryan hasn't nearly peaked yet
Da Bears
Father Ryan is the real deal. Hats off to the them.

Why are you playing the victim team here, because the coaches did not vote these guys number one in the polls? Do you think all the coaches that vote have even seen FR take the mats. Geeze. Sommers
Strong Early Season Start Bumps Ryan to Top... http://www.chattanoogan.com/2015/12/14/314372/Father-Ryan-Replaces-Baylor-In-State.aspx Father Ryan Replaces Baylor In State Wrestling Poll Monday, December 14, 2015 The Father Ryan wrestling team replaced Baylor as the No. 1 team in the state in this week's coaches poll. Father Ryan beat Baylor this past weekend in the Cleveland Duals. Bradley Central is still second just ahead of Baylor, Cleveland and McCallie. Now in its 24th year, The Poll is primarily a measure of dual meet strength with some consideration to individual tournament strength. Votes are cast by a state-wide panel of high school wrestling coaches and are based on a maximum Power Ranking of 100%. STATE POLL: FATHER RYAN BRADLEY CENTRAL BAYLOR CLEVELAND MCCALLIE BEECH CHRISTIAN BROTHERS WILSON CENTRAL SODDY DAISY (beat Stewart's Creek 30-29) HALLS PIGEON FORGE ARLINGTON --- Others receiving votes: BLACKMAN, GIBBS, INDEPENDENCE, MONTGOMERY BELL ACADEMY, MOUNT JULIET, RED BANK, SUMMIT, TENNESSEE HIGH. Not playing the victim, but for a defending state champion that returns six individual champions to be knocked down to 3rd in the initial ratings is evidence that the ole Chattanooga bias is still alive and well. Kudos to the coaches for quickly correcting this silliness
HSDAD
Others receiving votes: BLACKMAN, GIBBS, INDEPENDENCE, MONTGOMERY BELL ACADEMY, MOUNT JULIET, RED BANK, SUMMIT, TENNESSEE HIGH. Who was allowed to vote in the poll. Have they seen this years team strength? A few listed above must have received votes from their own coaches? They are also the only TN team that was ranked in the nation on intermat wrestling. They also only lost 3 wrestlers out of their starting lineup to baylors 4. Bradley also lost 3 that made the state (not including their 160,195, and 220 where they did not make the state tournament) so I am not sure exactly how you can make the argument that you had not seen father ryan wrestler yet. You have seen 11 of their 14 starters wrestler last year (6 of which are state champions)

Bradley is not from Chattanooga, by the way. Neither is Cleveland. Only Baylor.

The same bias that serves to promote Baylor exists also for Bradley and Cleveland. What other reason but "bias" would there have been to put Bradley and Baylor ahead of the Irish? It certainly wasn't by way of "logic" or "reason"

Didn't Baylor beat Father Ryan in the Cleveland Duals and also the state duals the last 2 years in a row? It's a pre season ranking, they won the last head to head so it's very logical they were ranked ahead of Father Ryan. It's a pre season ranking anyway, who cares? texas23
It would seem far less sanctimonious if this comment had come before the Cleveland Dual competition than after the fact when the results are known. To play a victim card of bias now is like a Monday morning QB situation.
