Anyone bold enough to make predictions this year?

once I see brackets I'll be able to make full predictions, but strictly off of qualifiers id say these are my current picks to win it for AAA. I'll pick my top 3 guys from each weight plus a dark horse pick. No particular order

106- Charles Wheaten (Soddy), Brayden Palmer (Beech), Trent Nelson (Tennessee). Dark Horse pick: Jared Hinshaw (Seymour)

113- TJ Hicks (Bradley), Job Dooley (Franklin), Calvin Martin (William B.). Dark horse: Tolliver Justice (Halls)

120- Ryan McElhaney (Bradley), Logan Whiteside (Cleveland), Adam Fuller (Centennial). Dark horse: Landon Adzima (Gibbs)

126- Tristan Blansitt (Cleveland), Tristan Roa (Brentwood), Jack Shrader (Franklin). Dark horse: Cleveland Curee (Tullahoma)

132- Corbin Hurley (Tennessee), Joseph Munoz (WV), Colton Landers (Cleveland). Dark horse: Nick King (Wilson)

138- Knox Fuller (Bradley), Zach Wilkins (Mt. Juliet), Dewey Pendley (Tennessee). Dark horse: Michael Mowery (Arlington)

145- Trevor Rippy (Beech), Michael Diemer (Heritage), Landon Fowler (Blackman). Dark horse: Sawyer Knott (Summit)

152- Chris Rowland (Ravenwood), Donnie Beyer (Bradley), Kris Bledsoe (Bartlett). Dark horse: Jason Johnson (Tennessee)

160- Tucker Russo (Soddy), Matthew Sells (Blackman), Colton McMahan (Halls). Dark horse: Kemale Strong (Hunters Lane).

170- Zach Linton (Wilson), John Oliveri (Stewart's Creek), Kyle Smith (Beech). Dark horse: Nolan Kennedy (WB)

182- Kaleb Rippy (Beech), Nate Walling (Mt. Juliet), Josh Booker (Jeffco). Dark horse: Hunter Fortner (Gibbs)

195- Brett Brown (Bradley), Justin Johnson (Stone Memorial), Raveon Harding (Arlington). Dark horse: Andre Bravo (Blackman)

220- Tyler Barber (Stewart's Creek), Hunter Bagley (Science Hill), Victor Bednarski (Ooltewah). Dark horse: Javier Salvador (Heritage)

285- Nick Boykin (Riverdale), Logan Townsend (Jeffco), Jordan Hardy (Antioch). Dark horse: Michael Kramer (Wilson)

Also side note, does anyone know why Sesnan of Lebanon didn't wrestle at regions?

tenth of a lb. My son said he almost cryed for him, they have wrestled together since they were young and are pretty good friends. Need to change that rule to allow a 10 minute grace period for the regionals only( just because it affects another tournament) "The State"

oh my goodness.. That's extremely harsh. I agree they should get a 10 minute grace period to go lose it. Especially when it's that close. My little brother wrestled with him throughout elementary and middle school. It sucks that it had to happen to a kid with so much heart and passion for the sport.

I think Salter at 152 may make a run at top 4

Really. Give him extra time. What's next ? I thought he had all week to make weight.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
