softballtheonlygame
Well, tigerpride23, Caplinger is a great pitcher, but a slight hop or leap is not correct. She is illegal by a lot. The moment she takes that toe off the ground, she is illegal. She leaps about 9 inches and that is a lot. All the appearances Bond has had in the State and he has not corrected his pitcher - well, that is on him. He is a great coach, he coaches a great team and has a great pitcher that would have benefitted from someone standing up and correcting a wrong. I am all for DeKalb, but it is ashamed nobody has had the guts to stand up and make this pitcher a super pitcher by doing things the correct way. Antwan
Umpires anywhere rarely call it unless the opposing coach calls it to their attention. I am sure the opposing coaches at the tourney read coacht...lol.

You are making my point for me about Caplinger, one 8AA program has done everything short of the Supreme Court(insert sarcasm) and to my knowledge it has not been called locally. My beef isn't with Dekalb at all, it's with the bunch of dead weights that call themselves umps in the Upper Cumberland.
Turnadouble
Congrats on a great season Dekalb... Definitely a great team. Let me say Tyra Graham is a phenomenal player... She showed up and showed out her last game of her high school career. TigerPride23, I agree if you watched video taken at state after they started calling illegal pitching... She did a much better job of dragging. I have plenty of video from season where it is VERY obvious & I have some from state after they called her and she leaps a little. When she had to pitch legal... More hitters hit off her than normal. Hey I don't blame the kid at all... If they aren't calling it why stop. I blame our umps for not keeping it fair. I am sure the opposing coaches at the tourney read coacht...lol.Haha... 😆No doubt coaches paid attention more because it was brought to light. But, they called her on it because she was doing it. Every team in our district complained ..Our umps never had the guts to do it. Hey like I said ... I don't blame her or Bond for not correcting it... If they don't call it keep doing it. I took video of her last few games at state and it was much better, and she was still called every game for it, vs what we saw all season. Indian
Not just 8-AA. I probably saw illegal called at most 6 or 8 times all season, and saw a wide range of ability levels.

Upperman finished 3rd about 5 years ago but I really can't remember before that, something in my mind says Dekalb was runner up once but I maybe totally wrong about that
Sportsjunkie3
Upperman was either 3rd or Runner up when Hull girls played. I am not sure about DeKalb but they have been there three years in a row.

The video you're referring to is the one I saw. Also I can agree she does have some correcting to do. Hats off to Tyra Graham. She hit two more homers tonight. Phenomenal player.
